CI CT ops I believe in the valley that's how things are done ig.

SG is better boss, it created NSG, SPG and any CT unit in India

Hmm. you are mixing and matching capability. SG was set up as CT/HRT unit and then the NSG act was passed and that capability passed on to NSG. SG went on its merry way with RAW/CS.

That was in the 80s. What has that got to do with Today? SG uses the NSG kill house to train FFS. NSG shooters spend FAR more time in their kill rooms than SG does as 51/52 have singular focus - their raison d'etre. SG is a high end jack of all trades.

What and who they created is irrelevant in 2024. To say they can outperform SPG in its task and NSG in its task is a bit out there my friend. Who trains day in and day out for what?

To give you a Tangental Example - JSOC members openly admit they will be hardpressed to beat HRT / LAPD/NYPD ERT/SWAT teams in urban Hostage rescue. A nice editorial on SOFREP pointed out that JSOC routinely sends its shooters to LAPD/Detroit PD/NYPD etc SWAT teams and FBI HRT to learn new improved techniques and kits because the cutting edge of close end shooting and hostage rescue tactics is happening there. [I had posted it on this thread sometime back]

I know which op you're talking of, Ln Nk Om Prakash was the ex SG one. This ex 21 Para SF guy on a podcast was commanding NSG's 51 SAG unit in Kashmir at the time

SGs aren't under R&W!! E22 consisting of SFF as a whole including SGs is under CABSEC not DGS or R&W!

Para guys mostly are not on the teams attached to RR, they usually are a part of Hunting parties, Recce teams, Freefall specialist teams.

I have clearly written RAW/CS and i was clearly refering to a time in the 80s post the NSG formation- the SG indeed operated under RAW and then went under CS in its current form for a variety of reasons which can easily be googled.

bro I did'nt mean to say that operators from Para SF are waiting to join SG, it's that they are already experienced operators in SG (unless, a few of them who come from regular army) so why would they be sent to Kashmir with RR as practice like Garud is attached. You answered my question by saying it's one of their mandate. That's fair, even though I dont understand why R&AW would be having guys do CI but anyways
