We should have done this first, pretty funny.
While the likes of Tu Lam or Dom Raso are still some of the best tactical trainers out there, they're still commercial courses and the chinese have no way to access western SOF except for platforms like Ronin or bribe ex-SOF/pilots with a boat load of money

If IA is puts it's ego aside and ask the Israelis or Yanks nicely, they might send in a few trainers or we can send a few of our best guys to train alongside their SOF to bring back those skills and tactics. Let's hope Marcos set that trend by not just adopting the gear from with training sessions with SEALS but also their tactics

A long time ago ,someone said that Marcos training course was designed with the help of SBS, Navy SEAL's and Shayetet 13.
It was confirmed that SBS helped us set up our diving school in Kochi and we sent 3 officers to BUD/s to form foundation of our basic training.

Shayetet 13 involvement was never confirmed?
Any info regarding IMSF relations with Shayetet 13.
Do we hold joint exercises with them?

As happy as I am with this news, should this be made public even before the operation has begun ?
Ig they have done in past too
It's not a strategic campaign rather tactical and most importantly no mission details have been given out
Anyway not expert on this question

Yeah, Shayetat 13 snipers trained with our boys in 2010. Girish Kaushik in his interview recounts the time when he got to prove them how good MARCOS were. The Isrealis had respect for him and said "you dont only speak you deliver also". He also mentions many of our guys, even officers just blindly following Isreali instructors and messing up their shooting. He mentions that it comes down to your habbits. You cant learn different SOPs from different places and expect to deliver. He was firm on his own training and did what he was comfortable with and so he achived the highest score in the competion. The West admires people like that actually who have faith in their training and can humble them. We Indians are the ones with inferiority complex that we tend to either hide it by boasting alot or being dumb cows in front of foreigners. Girish did none. He questioned them on everything. The shooting stance he described was similar to what the British use, Isrealis had a different one.

Secondlly, I saw this post of Abnesh Saxena, from the 1st batch of MARCOS, "IMSF". It was said that he had trained with R&AW, SAS and Sheytat Matkal. He specilizes in counter terrorism. It's possible that he was in Operation Sundown. Because at the time when Special Group was created, Indian Navy was deciding to send trainees to learn counter terrorism tactics because two commando version helicopters were sanctioned to fly them swiftly from Bombay to Bombay High.

So maybee they train here and there every time

could be, I assumed Shayetat 13 because MARCOS would need their Glail to be able to fire from ship also. So makes sense for a Naval counterpart to come

On linkdin profile of ex IMSF operator.

Also came across another profile where ex para guy said that he was involved in providing training to 300 Afghani special forces guys in 2016.

Maybe just maybe when you become mature you will realise that the books you read are fairy tales like and most of the times things are not exactly as it is as it has been portrayed.

Combat is difficult..people pee,cry,hide,run

And also show bravery..
Books just describe the outcome not what happened during the engagements

Does anyone have any info on how we choose the Carl gustav in the 90s as it was a great choice!

I think for our portfolio it was a really smart move..so anyone got any back story?

Our current class of officers and decision making is otherwise
