He didnt try out and go through Delta Selection. He was "tapped" and brought into the unit because of his primary Skill set [Direct Support Medic] Hence "attached" to Delta - BUT strange that he still ran singleton ops which would imply he was not "attached" but a full unit member.
In delta he was a support member (direct support medic), they have to do a version of the OTC
so he wasn’t an operator for delta but Delta are a professional organisation, they will still employ people in an efficient manner. Even if he’s not a full delta guy he was still a Green beret with experience so if the need came up why not get the brown guy that can speak relevant languages to do some of those kind of roles?
Delta don’t have any female operators either but there are females in their special recon squadron (G) who have been in the field with them and ‘put to use’
