Considering RR are about the only formation in the Indian military that engages in operations in anger I think the rotational nature of it and the fact it is all-arms is a good thing. Without having deputations to RR the vast majority of the Indian army would never see combat in any shape or form and they are struggling with a peacetime mentality enough as it is

(AR same story)
Main issue is that COIN is extremely different from infantry.

Also in 90s when RR is setting up nearly every infantry battalion had Seen deployment and done some level of operations. As the 90s progressed the fight became the RRs.

IMO- RR and it’s expansion in the 1990s was a the biggest W the IA could ever have.

But I will say this, adding arty guys and armored guys was golden. Because of it, even they have seen more combat deployments than western infantry (barring ukranians, Russians, Americans, British)

And even with all the changes it went through I really wonder when para boys go back do they not feel the difference between there equipment? Did they not feel like a need of advance sniper courses before 2021 after spending time at nsg which has a dedicated sniper school or they do realise it's just it's not something they have control over? Hell some general should be sent to nsg to look at how the sigs should be knitted out
Para and army guys loves to serve in NSG because they got to use some new toys. Army have a huge ego, the leading from RR haven't been implemented in other infantry units just because their is no mechanism nor will to absorb lessons from other units

Bac from the ded to post this reminder.

You'll see pvs31s with a few para SF units soon. Keep an eye for Black TASL maritime HC helmets.
OpsCore FAST XP is going standard.
New Vests are being purchased for most of the mission set.
NSG type kits and WEAPONS are also being brought back, maybe a few battalions are going experimental mode.
Parachute regiment is undergoing a LOT of changes.

Ok bye

Japanese Marines with their own domestic rifle all decked out, man i feel like shit. Holding up godzilla too.

2 reasons:

1) The Japanese work with the assumption that their next war (China / North Korea) will result in complete annihilation.

2) they have the same work ethic whether they are making Tea or training their military.

The modern JSDF has no combat experience but discount then at your own peril

India doesn’t have the same mentality towards China, if it did you’d see the results via equipment
