What is so precious/fragile about Indian elbows that these skater elbow pads are mandatory ‘commando’ issued equipment? How the heck did this infect the ‘commando’ community in India?

It’s not even about looks- the first thing these guys will ditch in the real world are those elbow pads and more than likely the knee pads so why wear them here? Firstly that they are posing for pics is dumb enough but adding details that serve no practical purpose shows a troubling lack of seriousness from who should be the most switched on and practical people in the military- don’t tell me political interference is to blame for this
probably made to wear them by PR guys, how can you be "speshal" forces without elbow pads.

JSDF hasn’t fired a shot in anger since WW2 and haven’t lost a soldier to enemy action in just as long

i don’t know where the idea that ‘battle hardened’= ‘capable’ came from with respect to the Indian military. Chalta hai is chalta hai

Japan even has the luxury of being an island nation. The enemy is literally at the gates for India, jai ho is the only response.

Man we had captured several HVTs (back then our forces were doing covert ops cross the LoC- acc to rkhanna sir), we even captured Masood Azhar, but released him along with other top HVTs due to that flight hijacking, in which politicians didn’t let RAW use SG.
Didn't let RAW use SG where? Afghanistan?

Wasn’t it NSG that were sat on the tarmac at Kabul?
According to wiki the civilian government of India planned to use SG to Clear the path

When the Indian Airlines flight 814 was forced by hijackers to land in Kandahar, Afghanistan, the SG was instructed to be ready for a potential rescue effort. Their mission was to clear a path for the National Security Guard to enable them to reach the aircraft and conduct an anti-hijacking operation. The plan entailed eliminating the members of the Taliban in the vicinity of the aircraft. However, public pressure eventually forced the Indian government to scrap the plan.[2]The government agreed to the demand of the hijackers to swap imprisoned militants in exchange for the civilian passengers.[17]

Ofc it was called down by those cowards and weended up releasing 3 HVTs which were nabbed in briliant SF ops

Wonder if our jawans can still do ambushes like this instead of rushing terrorist hideouts in human wave tactics

Here’s how to properly tackle a terrorist hideout cave (para LI please take notes).
1. Use RL or light arty to light up the cave and force the militants to come out
2. Outflank the group engaging the main assault party, take down the one with the best weapons first (using MMGs and modified AKs back then btw)
3. After this usually the militants will make a break for it, DO NOT LET THEM ESCAPE. Using blood trails 6 hardcore militants eliminated by a regular battalion (another one was shot by another battalion as he ran in the opp direction).

but no they just charge militant hideouts like headless chickens in 2023. Bloody jokers we areView attachment 216394
Or just fire a couple of Bumblebees into their hideout and then you wouldn't even have to wait for them to come out.

General BC joshi, the founder of the RR and the Gucci gang, was a “major advantage to the special forces”. The last of the last competent, a sadly very underrated general who’s forgotten. He’s the reason we won in Kashmir
