Quality of SF and infantry has simply gone down, back then I know of instances in which 20-30 sized ambush parties were successfully ambushing infiltration groups twice their size. Have read and heard a lot.

Indians just need to accept the realities that their army isn’t going up but going down. The fact that Indian special forces are fighting infiltration bids now is sad, considering that even in 2013 there were regular infantry killing 5-7 in one go.
SF numbers are increasing exponentially.. better equipment better training regimes … but experience also plays a major part so does precise intel..
Regarding infiltration LOC is better manned now with better equipment so if successful encroachment is made usually that means fire comes from inside too so the challenge is also increased to track a party well guided in short span of time for usually lesser experience folks with minimal terrain familiarity is always a challenge..
Few things are clear
Physical params are better
Equipment is better
Training regime is better
Experience lacking

regarding infantry I cant say much other than supply chains gotten much better which usually keeps them in better conditions

They care for their dogs well being more than we care for our special forces.
I guess
so that the handler can control/guide the dog using commands through his voice from a longer distance while taking the feed from the k9s head mounted camera
also prevents hearing injuries on the Fur missile

THEY HAVE COMTACS FOR THEIR K9S!!!!!!!!!!
We're like, a couple of million light-years behind atleast 🥲
Dogs have heightend hearing. Placing comtac on dogs will only degrade their ability to hear nothing fancy in here.

Nope. The whole point of COMTACs is to filter out the important sound signatures from the unnecessarily loud ones. And rest assured that it doesn't totally deafen you from the louder noises. It just brings them down a notch and amplifies the more important sound signatures. Pair that with the canine sense of hearing and what you have is an otherworldly hearing ability for the animal.

M4 has similar placement for the handle. or maybe I'm missing out on something here.
The charging Handel on ar15 don't reciprocate thus it is not an issues.

But in the case of sssd it was reciprocating which shows it is either not properly built or is overgased and it is dangerous as it can hit the person firing in the face or in the worst case scenario in his eyes.
Heck it may even blow up in his hands.

These are specially calibrated for K9 use and are very sensitive, their primary role is to dull hearing disrupting noises, bangs etc.

@ManhattanProject @JConline

first of all you need to understand the working of dog's ears.

Unlike humans, whose hearing range is 20 Hz to 20000 Hz dogs can hear as low as 4000 Hz so what @JConline talked about i.e amplification : dogs don't need that. Unlike humans, dogs hearing ability aren't enchanced by comtacs.

Coming to second part, cutting the disruptive sound, there are already equipments present in the market that are fit for this role, and it costs much lower than your comtacs.

example:

These are special cloths that block loud sound.

If your special forces have andha paisa, sure go for special caliberated comtacs. Train your dogs to get in tune with those devices but practical use of such devices for dogs is zero.
