1st SFOD-D , delta force , combat application group , the unit , task force green is the same shit ,I think AWG is a different unit , maybe comprising of some delta elements but different , last I heard us army was shutting it down.
AWG was an acrynoym that popped up during the Iraq part of GWOT in the early days. AFAIK it was a delta elements primarily but also other JSOCs joined in. It was an adhoc unit for the purpose of developing new tactics for their operations in Iraq and Astan.

The books masters of chaos and Relentless strike both talk about it.

Its not an official orbat

Bruh they look less equipped than even the Kumaon Rgeiment soldiers I posted on the LoC. Why is this? How come they are so effective in encounters and COIN Ops?

This is just the vanilla stuff.
If you go deeper, you'll find all kinds of flavored stuff, starting with CIA SAC, all the way to the successors of SCI-Zulu-Romeo/RIFLE (the group that was formed to assassinate Fidel Castro but was unfortunately used on JFK)
Anything CIA has nothing to do with this list or the Military. JSOC is still a military unit and figures in the US MIL ORBAT. the CIA and Mil budgets are also completely different.

No. JSOC is a black hole.
What @Automatic Kalashnikov said, numbers are never discussed openly- they even classify the division of strength. Until a few years ago DEVGRU (this is its old name, can’t be bothered to look up their current name) wouldn’t even acknowledge they had switched from teams to squadrons (like CAG and SAS). The newer squadrons in DEVGRU and CAG (G squadron ) are speculated to be specialised intel wings like the SRS in the U.K.,

IMO AWG and CAG etc are all the same name for SFOD-D
AWG was a different unit, now disbanded.

About the "Tier" system, that came about from a budget line. The DOD doesn't like referencing SMU by name so the used the term "Tier" when laying out their budget requests for a few years and it stuck.

The units themselves are usually referred t if they have to be in gov docs as NSMU/SMU/NPA etc

AWG had more guys from regular SF than it ever had Delta, bar the few who had rotated out of the unit as all Officers and SNCO's have to do.
