Is such a conversion kit of practical advantage for Special Forces and LE agencies as there are already SMGs for giving much accurate fire ,where as pistols are for secondary purpose and by conversion the concealability of pistol gets compromised as it can't be put in holster to be used in emergency sutuations.
It could be of advantage for civilian shooters participating in competition shooting ,but practical advantage viewed from SF point of view is sceptical.
Anyway that's only my views as I didn't see much use of this among law enforcement agencies .
Well Indian Para Commandos page had posted a pic of manipur cops with RONI long back , that was first time i saw it with Indian Forces. And now this is the second time. But it is not for semi auto Glocks , It is procured for full auto Pistols . NSG composition is unique. They get special weapons for SAG & SRG separately. I think it will be more useful for SRG in VIP security and 52 SAG in counter hijacking ops. Recently NSG received some Glock 18C pistols. They already have 17 , 18 , 26 & 33 with them.

There are many small arms NSG has in it's inventory but never used. NEGEV , M249SAW , MINIMI , SSG3000 , UZI etc etc.

What is the composition of 31 RR(cdo)? What is the need of sending elite airborne and SF troopers to RR where as they are operating independently in J&K.Itd just depleting the manpower of SF and airborne.Creation of it is justified only If it is composed of Para TA units and other allied para qualified supprt units only.
Not every SF in JK is operating on it's own bro. Other SF & Airborne Battalions also need some experience in combat. 31 RR belongs to Parachute Regiment so assume both SF & Airborne are serving in that battalion. Correct me if I am wrong.

Currently 29 & 23 both airborne units are serving in JK. And in recent 31 RR encounters 1st , 10th & 3rd PARA SF were active.

If got a chance to meet any NSG personnel, do enquire about the practical feasibility of the SBR conversion kits in military environment.Afaik the thing was introduced for civilian shooters in USA to bypass some US arms laws concerning length of fire arms.
Seems that there is nothing a converted glock can do which a micro Uzi or MP9 cant do.Anyway having specialised weapons is always good, who knows someday the need of it may occur

The speaker is Retired Lt. Gen. Rajendra Nimbhorkar and he was speaking at a non-governmental event hosted by a non-governmental organisation.

How the heck is then the GoI "hell bent on [supplying] SOPs piecemeal to the media"?

It seems some just cannot look past 26/9 while asking all others to do so.

This is true...dogs are scared of leopard scent.
I beg to differ. I have lived among leopards in my vicinity in Assam. The dogs would rather point towards the source thereby sounding an alarm. A dog would bark when they smell something unusual, especially a urine that they are not acquainted of. Carrying a urine is like carrying a heat signature when heat seeking missile is on your tail.

Leopards are known to prey on dogs in many areas where they happen to be sympatric. Borivili national park is prime example. So it stands to reason that dogs maybe inherently scared of an apex predator in regions where such preying is common.

J&K has different species of leopards, the spotted leopard and the mountain leopard and it's quite likely that some of these leopards descend from the mountains and raid the villages for livestock and also prey on dogs when they can.

In the forests, animals such as deer they sound an alarm call when they sense a predator approaching. But when they come across the signs of a predator having being around in the area, they quickly move away without a fuss.

I believe this is what may have happened in the PoK villages. Once the dogs smelled the presence of leopard, they took a patli gali out of there.

It should not have been said on that platform.
It is true. It is not like dogs don't bark at all but they just avoid to come near it. Pardhi hunters also use this technique while poaching.

Talking about Nimbhorkar sir I am going to meet him soon. I will ask him personally.
He was senior of my father in Satara Sainik School. His father & my grandfather were buddies , they together worked to establish Cotton market in Morshi Village (His Native) , Amravati District , Maharashtra. Great to have such officer as my family friend.

Member like @Vinod DX9 who know me personally know about this very well in case if you think I am talking BS.

Army mulls shifting Rashtriya Rifles HQ to Srinagar
The Indian Army is planning to shift the headquarters of the Rashtriya Rifles, which oversees the thrust against terrorists in Kashmir, from New Delhi to Srinagar.

A key cog in the anti-terror operations of the Indian Army, Rashtriya Rifles might soon find its head, the Director-General, in Srinagar. The Army is conducting its biggest ever restructuring exercise to make it more lethal by improving efficiency and plug the gaps in personnel distribution.

The change in the headquarters will accelerate the decision making and the execution of operations against terrorism. For example, the Assam Rifles, which has 45 Battalions and maintains the internal security in the Northeast and along the Myanmar Borders, has its headquarters in Shillong.

The Rashtriya Rifles is a counterinsurgency force having 65 battalions and is comprised soldiers deputed from other army units.

"It is logical that the head of the force is closer to the formation for quick decision making," said an officer on the condition of anonymity. The study is all-encompassing with its mandate covering every department and setup which includes the important Directorate Military Operations and the Military Intelligence.

The Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat, has stated that although there is adequate personnel deployed at each headquarter, a scarcity of troops arises in the battalions. In an attempt to counter this shortcoming, the army is planning to do away with the headquarters at the Brigades level.

The Indian Army is organised into Units, Brigades, which are comprised of three units, Division - having three Brigades under them, and Corps - which are comprised of three Divisions.

The Army Chief also mentioned restructuring the Directorates that handle the Information Warfare (IW) and the Public Information (PI), with plans being discussed about merging the two. The IW comes under the ADG Military Operations and the PI Comes under the ADG PI.

Speaking at a seminar on Social Media in Delhi the Army Chief said, "As was rightly brought out, do we need a directorate general of information warfare or can we (do it) within our own organisation, that is we have the ADGMO-IW, we have the ADGPI, can we amalgamate some of our existing resources and ensure that social media becomes part and parcel of our life in the army?"

Sources told ANI that the Army is also studying the possibilities of merging Director General of Military Training (DGMT) and the Army Training Command.

The DGMT in Sena Bhawan, New Delhi, functions under the Deputy Chief of Army Staff and handles the policy formation for the Army, while the Army Training Command, which is mandated to execute these policies, is headquartered in Shimla. Both oversee training.

This is the biggest every restructuring study being conducted in the Indian Army which is going to complete by December this year as the Army Chief wants its execution to start at the beginning of 2019. (ANI)

This segment brings you exclusive coverage by WION on Rashtriya Rifles battalion popularly known as RR, who remains at the forefront to deal with terrorism in Kashmir. It showcases how Ghatak: the lethal commandos of Rashtriya Rifles are being briefed by the commander.

India has three species of leopards- snow leopard, clouded leopard and the common leopard. Snow and clouded leopard aren't found in the regions across LOC. I am even doubtful of presence of common leopards.
Dogs do not fear leopards. A pack of dogs can easily defeat a leopard, which is a solitary animal. Leopards depend on element of surprise.
Why I am refuting this is because of this:
Take an example of human's urine. A person can recognise the smell of human's urine better than a human's body odour. Now multiply this sensing ability of human 10 times and you get the sensing ability of a dog. Carrying a urine is nothing but keeping a ringing alarm clock. Not to refute the credibility of a Corps commander but this I will take with a pinch of salt.

This year I got a chance to work with forest department during tiger census 2018.... Actually leopards has there own area in which they hunt specially during night. And other animals really avoid the area in which they found any sign of its presence. So yes, this technique used by SF is practical and very much appreciable.

Other animals might be. Who would want to go near a predator? Yet a domesticated dog would sound off alarm even in panic.
