My point is, NSG keeping the MP5 in service in any capacity is a no brainer, when they can use AR-15s with 10" or 11" uppers. It would not be a major increase in size either, compared to MP5 A5 which has an 8.9" barrel
They do. SiG 551 short barrels and longer. So an assault group has a mix of MP5 and SIGs in the assault force. The MP5 will also have a mix of hollow points/ low velocity rounds so that you don't end up shooting civiies through walls etc

Weapons mix is also determined by what structure they are assaulting

A "no-brainer" is where a decision is so obvious that it requires no thinking effort to choose. MP-5 shouldn't be an obvious choice for NSG in this day and age. Your post in correct, just use of this phrase is wrong.

That being said, even amreeki army is going for an SMG (B&T APC-9K), for some reason..
Those are for PDW type roles (for concealed carry, close protection roles etc.).

Happy 36th birthday NSG!!

For the nth time - this helmet is not NSG's. It's American SOF kit being tried on by our boys during one of those joint exercises, like this -

NSG doesn't and won't use tan-coloured helmets. The Green Berets do.

Yeah, I based it off the fact that the stock is not a conventional rifle stock.. Looks like a bullpup or whatever P90 is.
It's just a SPAS-15 shotgun.

Thats the point, you don't need to worry about shooting civvies thru walls if you have 55 or 77 grain 5.56 from AR-15 with short barrel...

Well that's not entirely true as real life differs from 'test' in an academic setting. So you play a balancing act and make sure your training is done right.

CT units world around are not stupid to have ditched MP5 in favor of AR SBRs.
The point I've been making for a while now, ALL of the top CT units in the world have converted to 5.56mm SBRs a while ago. The NSG doggedly holding onto the MP-5/9mm round (MPX) is a blot against them and speaks to their unwillingness or inability to look at the science of ballistics and consider the nature of threats today.

MP-5 was born in the 80s when the CT environment was very different and since then weapon tech has moved on substantially, take a 11inch AR-15 with a silencer and I am 100% certain it will offer all of the functionality the NSG adores of the MP-5 (low recoil, accuracy, ergonomics etc)

It's not even a question of money as the NSG to this day are still sinking money into the MP-5 platform and ordering 1000s of them

That being said, even amreeki army is going for an SMG (B&T APC-9K), for some reason..
That is for the US Army MPs for VIP/CP role.

Yo are those ours?!
NSG yes but the helmet and comns are 100% not their's

Yes the SIG-55X mix has increased since 26/11 but MP-5 remains their standard issue and that is an issue, in a HIT 1, max 2 assaulters will have a SIG carbine/rifle but that should be entirely flipped, the standard issue should be a SBR and a few in the team can have a SMG if their role/mission requires it, similarly to DEVGRU (standard issue is HK-416 but the MP-7 is used for certain missions and certain roles

In the book about the K9/MWD Cairo who took part in the OBL raid his handler (Will Chesney) says that in his early days as a handler in missions he would use the MP-7 but he switched over to the 416 after a few missions.

I've noticed that NSG dog handlers often use the MP-5K

Of course NSG does tailor weapons to the mission, their detachment in JK seems to almost exclusively use modernised AKs

Interestingly after the Paris attacks GIGN ordered a large number of CZ BREN rifles chambered in 7.62*39 to replace/supplement their HK-416s

This is one of the areas that the NSG excels:

Article is from 2018 and you can see most of the desired capabilities(off lead assault, direction and commands)) have been attained and demonstrated

Watch from 4:00 to understand how assault K9s are employed by top tier SF units in the West today and this is the kind of capability the NSG now has thanks to superior training and adoption of technology:

+ another case where NSG is leading the way but also acting as a training force to enhance the capacity of other CAPFs and state police forces.

Looks like these helmets are borrowed from the Army during joint exercise

Just like PARA SF borrowed from MECH INF During INDRA 2019

They brought their own weapons and equipment but not helmets?

Either way this is just pathetic, try giving a USAF PJ or JTAC this crappy model 1974 helmet and see what they say

And this is for an official photo op?!

Yes mate!! Crazy that ballistic helmet with Integrated comm is used by NSG not Para SF
That’s not a ballistic helmet but a non-ballistic FAST helmet.

It’s also used by Para SF, as seen in this image.👇
