From some site, & considering sam range [380km], upto 600km.Not official data. These map circles are based on assumption that they even cover 1000KM.. I would believe it provides decent detection for only 400KM.

400 km is the engagement range of 40N6E missile. Not official data. These map circles are based on assumption that they even cover 1000KM.. I would believe it provides decent detection for only 400KM.
We have a XRSAM program in similar lines. The XRSAM missile system is expected to have a range of 250 km against fighter jets, 350 km against cruise missiles, sea skimming anti-ship missiles, AWACS and mid air refuelers.@Dark Sorrow @binayak95 holy shit s400 covers alot of India are we even close to making something that covers this much area?
Those might be ballistic missiles going to crazy heights.400 km is the engagement range of 40N6E missile.
Detection and tracking range needs much more than engagement range.
Generally missiles are placed much ahead of the radars and sensors.
Most sources give a detection and tracking range from 600 km to 1000 km depending on situation.
I thought xr sam was only for navyWe have a XRSAM program in similar lines. The XRSAM missile system is expected to have a range of 250 km against fighter jets, 350 km against cruise missiles, sea skimming anti-ship missiles, AWACS and mid air refuelers.
We even have Swordfish Long Range Tracking Radar which currently has a range of 600 km (370 mi)-800 km (500 mi) km range and can spot objects as small as a cricket ball.
The Super Swordfish radar has a range of 1,500 km range.
Though this are primary anti-ballistic system radar they can also track aircraft and cruise missiles.
These radars can also track hyper-sonic targets.
And those super swordfish radars are indegenous? If yes damn we got good ass radarsWe have a XRSAM program in similar lines. Yes, the Swordfish LRTR is an indigenous derivative of the EL/M-2080 Green Pine radar of which 2 units are operational. And those super swordfish radars are indegenous? If yes damn we got good ass radars
Great to knowYes, the Swordfish LRTR is an indigenous derivative of the EL/M-2080 Green Pine radar of which 2 units are operational.
The original Swordfish LRTR is capable of detecting ballastic missiles in the 600-800km range.
The EL/M-2080 is known to have tracked Scud missiles from 700km away for its complete trajectory back in the 2000s.
The Super Swordfish VLRTR can detect a 0.25m^2 target at a distance of 1000km.
2 units of the Super Swordfish are operational.
Top tier Cruise missiles fly below 150m . 350KM seems to be way too much exaggerated BS.350 km against cruise missiles, sea skimming anti-ship missiles
This has to be the specs for something having ballistic missile trajectory with height of 100s of Kilometers. We even have Swordfish Long Range Tracking Radar which currently has a range of 600 km (370 mi)-800 km (500 mi) km range and can spot objects as small as a cricket ball.
What about the US slapping sanctions on India and setting the LCA program back a decade back and denying cyro engines to ISRO and setting the org back 2 decades and supplying Pakistan with advanced warplanes capable of delivering nukes to India? The Russians literally stole the few tanks that had been sent to them for modernization certification (only certification from OEM) and put them to frontline use.
The bastards stole 2 billion USD on VKD, blackmailed India's defence attache ( a Commodore) have always played India against China and vice versa, cheated us on the T90 deal, the Brahmos program and the SU30MKI deal. Took R&D money from us for the MiG29K revival, and then delivered a product that is sub standard.
I can quote hundred more instance of Russians being anything but friendly to India. They are conniving weasels who deserve the buttfucking theyre getting in Ukraine.
Yes, this are indigenous radars. And those super swordfish radars are indegenous? If yes damn we got good ass radars
No really. Such sea-skimming or terrain hugging missiles can be tracked by AWACS or Aerostat radar and engaged by XRSAM especially in network-centric environment (e.g. using AFNET).Top tier Cruise missiles fly below 150m . 350KM seems to be way too much exaggerated BS.
Even if Radar is mounted on Navy ship , due to earth curvature it's range should not be beyond 50 km for cruise missiles.
This has to be the specs for something having ballistic missile trajectory with height of 100s of Kilometers.
I know that.. beyond 50KM for low flying objects even S-400 actually needs support of AWACS.No really. Such sea-skimming or terrain hugging missiles can be tracked by AWACS or Aerostat radar and engaged by XRSAM especially in network-centric environment (e.g. using AFNET).
For extreme engagement missile can follow Hi-Lo flight profile.
This range are preliminary specification by DRDO.
XRSAM is developed all 3 branches of Indian Armed Forces.I thought xr sam was only for navy
IDK from where you got these ranges.I know that.. beyond 50KM for low flying objects even S-400 actually needs support of AWACS.
But even AWACS can't detect cruise missiles of 0.5-1m2 before 110km..
yeah.. i rechecked.IDK from where you got these ranges.
The article statesyeah.. i rechecked.
220KM is for non stealthy cruise missiles.
110 for stealth cruise..

still 350 sounds too much.
Why would we send tanks to Russia for certification after receiving upragadationizalation? To be clear are you talking about the T-90 we sent to Russia for certification post conducting upgrade in India.
IA wants certification from OEM for combat worthiness. Why would we send tanks to Russia for certification after receiving upragadationizalation?
Is there some sort of rule where an army can't use a tank in combat unless it has a duly notarized certification in triplicate?
