Beijing:pakistan is"very concerned"with the development of the Indian navy which has emerged as"very powerful", Pakistan naval chief, Admiral Asif Sandila said today.
"The Indian navy is very strong I must say,"Admiral Sandila, who is in China for the 65th anniversary celebrations of the Chinese navy told China's state-run Global Times.
"India is a big nation which has over one billion people. It has made a very powerful navy and continues to develop the navy forces,"he said in reply to a question about his assessment of the Indian navy.
"On the other hand, Pakistan and India do not have very friendly relations at the moment, which makes people in Pakistan very concerned about the development of the Indian navy,"he said.
"At the same time, we would like to do what we want to do if there's any threat to us. I don't want to say the threat can only come from one place, it can come from anywhere, but we want to be ready for that,"Admiral Sandila said.
He stressed that the Chinese navy should play a bigger global role including in the Indian Ocean.

"The Chinese navy in my assessment has a very important role to play all over the world, not only in the South China Sea, or the Pacific and the India Ocean. China is a big power now and China has powerful navy forces,"he said.
"Today the Chinese navy is operating for international causes. And of course they continue to play a very important role in anti-piracy in the gulf. China is also helping so many countries in Africa and Asia, I don't know how it can become a threat,"he said.

Poor Pakis admitting they can't match Indian navy and crying in open to China(new illegal Pappa) to save them.

Pakis are always gonna cry like babies.

Our Navy is not even nowhere it should be based on the threats and roles India has to play at present and future.Perhaps Pakis want India to disband whole navy and armed forces so they can sleep calm.

Perhaps Paki Admiral goes into tears whenever he reads about how Indian Navy THRASHED Pak Navy in 71.

Pakistan is no match. We have to compare and develop by seeing China. We are no match for the Chinese Navy and the quality of their equipment is getting better day-by-day. We have to focus on China and develop our defences against the Chinese.

PRC is just looking for a legitimate reason to expand its activity on the Indian Ocean. Since, it does not include itself as an IO's state, it waits for any regional political player to invite it. PAK is just a pawn

As Confidence and Security Building Measures PAKs should open their ports/bases to Indian ships and let them station there. After all, the Karachi naval base will be vacated soon ;-)

What do you think they could do instead?

I think it is actually a pathetic reach out asking China to do something to neutralise the Indian Navy.

Jocularly speaking.

They could borrow money from the Saudis, lease their country to the Saudis, and upgrade their Navy and armed forces with the obsolescent weaponry and weapon platforms of China.

Too proud to do that ;-) BUT they don't see anything wrong in selling their own ports (Gwadar) to PRC, just to provide it with a de facto naval base in this part of the IO.
