Few points:

1. It has SRGM
2. It still carries Shtil Arm Launcher instead of VLS Shtil.
3. There seems some sort of VLS or some other module in front of arm launcher

Either the model is not update or they are still going of arm launcher.
Can the radars and SAM system be replaced with something more modern? Surely we can find something better than the Fregat for a new frigate. Also what about using the VL-SRSAM? How does VL-SRSAM compare with the VLS Shtil?

GRSE would deliver the first P17A frigate in 2025, almost 7.5 years after it was laid down. What a joke.
"On the execution plan for the existing orders, as I mentioned earlier, the first two ships of the P‐17 Alpha project had been already launched and construction of the third ship is in full swing. The first ship has achieved nearly 40% of physical progress and presently is undergoing the outfitting phase. The delivery of the ship is planned in 2025. The second ship which was launched on 15th of July this year is presently in dry dock for the pre‐ Contractor Sea Trials’ (Pre‐CST) dry dock phase, and this ship is planned to be delivered during early 2026. "

DPSUs literally will say anything to get orders. Wonder if our shipbuilding contracts come with deadlines & penalties.
I don't understand
Ok delay happens
But in our case everything will be well and good till the end of timeline but suddenly delay gets announced and not a small one but 2 year or 1 year or 3 year
Have u guys noticed I mean what huge mistakes or problems identified on last moment that entire plan shift for 2-3 years
I personally think all the timelines which are given are damn false I mean they know the timeline but release false data for public or customers but why
I mean in our nation barely anyone gives priority to it wrt elections or any other functioning

Such a delay and long construction time is simply unacceptable, after all the chestthumping of modular construction. If true, GRSE should be permanently blacklisted from future warship contracts. Let them stick to building tugboats

And from where you will import warships then? Japan or South Korea?
Delays happen sometimes in such projects due to technical slag, halt in supply chains or missed planning by someone or even fabrication delays.

7.5 years for first P17A is still not that bad as far as Indian standards are concerned. We have to build third largest navy in world. We have enough room only for 150 ships that we are building 47 ships outside the country. It's stupidity to halt any operations of shipyards at this phase. Instead add more and more shipyards for it.

PS, Indian navy needs at least $30 billion annual budget + building capacity in India, every year to surpass Japan in one decade minimum.

Fund L&T to expand their shipyard to build frigates. They churned out the OPVs very quickly for indian standards. I still dont get why it would take 5 years to commission the ship from launch.
