Not 2, only one sub i.e INS Arihant is OFFICIALLY commissioned, there were reports that the 2nd sub INS Arighat will be commissioned this year OFFICIALLY

Kya pata bro - I take all rumours of S4/S5 etc etc with truck loads of salt. its very difficult to trust anything that SBC does. They have USVs, AUVs, and some other high end programs in advanced stages of completion too.

This ship is responsible for the US Navy losing 20 years in destroyer development and adoption if not more .now usa is so scared in experimental designs they are relying on an essentially obsolete cold war design of Burke and their derivatives for the immediate and medium term future.they have only recently proposed a New generation destroyer.

It means that they have to operate new Burke class destroyers for atleast 30 years. Many of them will be in service after 2050.

Only partial failure. While they are going back to traditional designs they have learnt to reduce personal required fro destroyers with automation on zumwalt. It requires only 150-70 person compared to 300 + on Burke.

So if they can achieve similar automation on their upcoming destroyers that will be a phenomenal change.

Calling the Burkes especially Flight IIA and III obsolete is just plain wrong; the new updates standard SPY Aegis + new VLS systems + new gen DEW AD systems coming into service, plus general improvement to all other sensors, mission control, comms, automation means that the Burke is the second finest destroyer out there, right behind the Maya class DDG - and the US has nearly 80 of them.

but zumwalt is gone now,it is an exprimental destroyer only now and i dont know if they will use it for that.also the time they have wasted in designing various components for this zumwalt is not going to be returned,the US is going through its terrible 20s now till 2030.they are retiring a lot of old ships which are workhorses. and they are going to be reduced to about 250-260 ships max if you are keeping track of retirement and induction schedules.also they are still proposing crazy impractical ideas like the last two decades like half of their new proposed fleet consisting of unmanned drone vessels which are a disaster in the making.
