Nooo.....not an Amric*nt fighter
Luckily for you, our system gives preference to L1, over someone "exceeding expectations/requirements".Nooo.....not an Amric*nt fighter
Yes, "mileage kitna deti hai" mentality. Dassault will surely come up with an end of summer/back to school sale.Luckily for you, our system gives preference to L1, over someone "exceeding expectations/requirements".
Why not? They are the best Naval fighter in the market, come with the holy blessing of Uncle Sam, inter-operability with NATO carriers, inter-operability with P8Is, and some long-ass Aim-120D in case of hostilities.Nooo.....not an Amric*nt fighter
They already did with setting up the Safran MRO facility. At last, we might end up with Rafale only because of inter-operability with IAF and the fact that Americans are unreliable friends.Yes, "mileage kitna deti hai" mentality. Uncle Sam will definitely try to kill TEDBF if F-18 enters our serviceWhy not? They are the best Naval fighter in the market, come with the holy blessing of Uncle Sam, inter-operability with NATO carriers, inter-operability with P8Is, and some long-ass Aim-120D in case of hostilities.
No they wont because Boeing is on record that without further orders from USN they will shut down the F-18 production after they deliver the final plane to USN in 2024.Uncle Sam will definitely try to kill TEDBF if F-18 enters our service
Uncle Sam won’t kill anything, if our bureaucrats and generals get sold to CIA then it’s our weakness.Uncle Sam will definitely try to kill TEDBF if F-18 enters our service
Would cheaper used F-18 be available? No need to buy new airframes if they are going to be replaced in much higher numbers by TEDBF in 12 years anyway.Another thing to consider is Rafale production line is currently full of orders. If we place order, let’s say in 2023 then don’t expect to get them before 2028 or even 2030.
With F-18 we can get expedited delivery within 2-3 years.

I agree, unless the dalaal groups are working this choice....it makes most practical sense to go for mig 29k or f-18 considering rafales are not proven for carrier that much and may not be available for a while and India needs to get anything that they can get hold off considering the world situation and if big powers directly fight then we will not even have that choice. Get armed now than later....I am also thinking this is a way to pacify US for India's independent decisions vs Russia. Couple of squadrons of sh-18s should not empty our bank and plenty enough in IOR region unless you are fighting USA itself.....with dollar and euro more turning into toilet paper every year, better get some goods now while investing in our MIC (lot of promise but no mass and stable inductions yet and plenty of branding vs truly indigenous in critical components)Another thing to consider is Rafale production line is currently full of orders. Carrier ones take a beating over lifetime....used are nothing but trouble. They are useful if you already have few squads and augmenting some that got lost or to put in reserve or for emergencies.Would cheaper used F-18 be available? Surely some of the F-18s being retired around the world still have some years left in them.
Was this meeting done on board the IAC ?
numbers over 50 means for both the carriers, we can say goodbye to Teddy then
Teddy won't be ready for 10-12 years and we need carrier fighters within a couple years. 57 is a nice good number to get the fighters we need for this decade. Teddy will be the follow up program.numbers over 50 means for both the carriers, we can say goodbye to Teddy then
