four ships visible , Visakhapatnam is not present here , as it is commissioned , mormugao is there alongwith lead vessel nilgiri , two other ships are under fabrication , and ready to be launched now , or if the one vizag classs visible is not murmugao then the other two are one nilgiri and one vizag
correcting myself , the one seen here is third vizag and one nilgiri in water , another nilgiri ready for launch , third vizag has radar fitted , basic deck work remaining before basin trials or maybe basin trials are done , fourth vizag will be launched early this year , maybe march or may

I am also waiting for that only :notsure:.

economy should cross 5trillion dollars, then navy's budget will come to normal level, otherwise procurement process will become very slow
I always wonder why is the Budget of the Indian the lowest among the 3 branches (the 3 branches of the Indian Armed forces is: (1) Indian Army, 2) Indian Airforce, and 3Indian Navy). Indian Navy is always pushing for Indigenisation. Indian Navy has commissioned 3 kolkata Class Destroyers, 1 Visakhapatnam class Destroyer(4 are supposed to be commissioned remaining are the in some stage of development) etc. I don't understand why Indian Navy budget is so low Though. Personally I feel like we should increase budget of the Indian Navy.

Possible NGMV design (with modifications) :

https://navyrecognition.com/index.p...-qatari-navy-air-defense-corvette-design.html

Weight ~3000-3500 tons

Specifications :

8 x BrahMos SSM
18 x Barak 8 / VL-SRSAM
1 x 76 mm SRGM
2 x 30 mm AK 630 CIWS
2 x 12.7 mm SRCG
4 x 7.62 GMPG

Radar / Sensors :

CSL won the 10,000 crore tender as L1 in early 2021.

https://economictimes.indiatimes.co...sels-for-indian-navy/articleshow/81170860.cms

CSL had signed an MoU with Fincantieri around late 2020 which included warship design.

The understanding signed today lays down the cooperation principles in several fields:
  • design, procurement and local construction of new vessels for the Indian defense market;
  • local construction and marketing of mechanical products (such as propulsion propellers, shaft lines, stabilization and steering systems, thrusters, azimuthal thrusters);
  • naval automation;
  • ship repair;
  • training of Indian personnel and consultancies to be carried out by Fincantieri in the field of design or construction or shipyard upgrade processes.
https://www.fincantieri.com/en/medi...n-fincantieri-and-the-indian-shipyard-cochin/

Contract signing is expected in 2023 with keel laying around 2024-2025.

This is because the ASW-SWC contract shortlisted GRSE and CSL in 2017 as joint L1 and awarded contract in 2019.

2nd & 3rd P17A should be ready for launch, it has been more than 2 years since keel laying for them already! Hope both are launched this year.

Name i don't know , but will be launched this year , mid or end
Bro you are mentioning Visakhapatnam class Destroyer. Visakhapatnam class will have 4 ships in it and they are:
1)INS Visakhapatnam(D66)
2)INS Mormugao(D67)
3)INS Imphal(D68)
4)INS Surat(D69)

Ins Visakhapatnam was launched in 20th April 2015, INS Mormugao was launched in 17th September 2016 ,INS Imphal was launched in 20th April 2019 so that leaves only one More Visakhapatnam class Destroyer that is left to be launched and that is INS Surat (D69).

So that means if you are right about one more Visakhapatnam class Destroyer being launched by this year than it will obviously be INS Surat(D69) right?

I've seen an interview where the late Gen Bipin Rawat was saying on how surprised he was with the ability of the Naval platforms during the trouble with Chinese in Doklam.
Yup ! Very useful on land .

P8i are true force multiplier they work as awacs on land and anti submarine hunters in sea. They can carry multiple harpoons and does do the job of multiple naval jets alone if mass attack is required.
And we have second largest fleet of them in the World.

3500 tons is again pushing is size of frigates yet this is a corvette.

With 8 Anti ship bramhos it's destructive power is same as most frigrates in the world.

This design was showcased at DIMDEX 2018, the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition & Conference currently held in Qatar, it was presented by Italian shipbuilding group Fincantieri to the Qatari Navy.
