The difference i found was Agm 88 is dual thrust . And ngarm is dual pulse . Is dual pulse supposed to have more weight ? Regarding range , ngarm wiki shows 150km . Might be more , as they always show a lesser range .
The difference that I could find between dual-thrust and dual-pulse is that in dual-thrust the fuel in the two sections are of different types(densities).
The fuel in 2nd section usually burns at a slower rate, this is the sustain phase which comes after the boost phase which happens during burning of the fuel in the first section.
In dual-pulse, the burn of 2nd section can be pre-programmed or be delayed to give the missile a higher range.
Also what I guess makes the NGARM heavier is that its 5ft longer than the HARM and significantly fatter.
Also, as per the official DRDO doc, the range of NGARM is 200km, which is approx 55% more compared to the AGM-88E HARM.

The difference is US Wild Weasels dont use the HARM as a final solution answer to ground SAMs and radars. ITs not the best at actually killing radar sites - it can be spoofed and defeated.

NGARM by all accounts is a general purpose anti radar - be it AWACS or HQ 9 kind of missile.

By all accounts the IAF is getting serious about SEAD/DEAD/Wild Weasel.

So to address the whale In the room.

What is the production rate of Tejas?
The numbers for 2022 to 2023 should be clear by now.
Someone was tracking the production right?
The target number was 16 per year.

@Bleh
The production rate has been as low as 4 jets/year to all time high of 8 jets delivered to IAF in a span of just 4 months(SP27- SP35).
Also, one has to take into consideration that although the order for 24 FOC(16 single seat + 8 trainers) std Tejas was placed in 2011, it was only in January 2019 that HAL recieved the clearance from CEMILAC to begin production of FOC standard Tejas, so up until Jan 2019, HAL only had to deliver 16 IOC Tejas.
In Gaganshakti 2018, some 8 IOC Tejas were operationally deployed.

IAF’s ‘Project Cheetah’ for weaponising Israeli drones to be awarded to Indian firms under Make in India route
New Delhi [India], September 18 (ANI): With all major import deals being either put on hold or scrapped by the Narendra Modi government, the Indian Air Force is now planning to go ahead with its Project Cheetah under the Make in India route where Indian defence manufacturers would arm the Israeli Heron drones with strike capabilities.

Under the ambitious Project Cheetah, the Indian Air Force wants to upgrade its existing fleet of Israeli-origin Heron unmanned aerial vehicles with better communication facilities and missiles which can target enemy positions from long range.

As per plans, the project was to be completed with Israeli weapon manufacturers.

“Now, the IAF is planning to go ahead with the upgrade of its drones by involving Indian defence firms under Make in India in defence,” government sources told ANI.

The IAF is the main lead in the project under which the Israeli drones in the Navy and the Army are also planned to be upgraded with strike capabilities and better surveillance and reconnaissance pods.

The three services for a long time have depended upon IAF Israeli-made Searcher II and Heron UAVs for reconnaissance and snooping purposes.

With the upgrade in snooping capabilities, the forces on the ground would also be able to get pinpoint intelligence about hideouts in areas where men have to be involved in operations.

The upgrades would also enable the ground stations to operate these aircraft from far-off distances and control them through a satellite communication system.

The surveillance capabilities of the UAVs planned to be upgraded would be similar to the ones that have been acquired by the Indian Army and IAF under the emergency acquisition powers granted to the forces by the government in wake of the ongoing military stand-off. (ANI)

Finally some sane Decision.

C-295 will replace the Avro and AN-32 Fleet. So, we have some standardization of Cargo Fleet.
C-295
C-130 Hercules
C-17 and IL-76.

If possible, we can collaborate with Embraer for C-390 which will help to complement the Hercules fleet or simply we can get sufficient amount of Hercules.
