* Can't fill in commision money
* Can't fill in commision money
You mean producing new helis? Was there an order from IA/IAF?Then why should we even have them.. if not for transport job ?
Unfortunately we are still continuing with these design and producing them in India.
because russians are not a forthcoming vendor, MoD wanted to buy 9 additional SU-30 mki and 21 Mig-29K, that deal is going no where. some years ago, russians even made fuss about modifications to AC in T-90s.It is ridiculous that this MRFA circus is being allowed to be circulated for so long.
Despite knowing full well that we are not a first world country with $$$ printing presses, the IAF seems to want only a western gold plated MRFA figther jet, but not more Rafales, or Su-30 etc...
Why do they not want more Rafales, SU-30 ? Any explanation given by them ?
Ok, Bharatiya fighters won't fit the bill, let us agree (though that is also debatable), but what about the above 2 ? Surely having more squadrons of Su-30 MKI can arrest the freefall of fighter numbers ? Why is the govt also not forcing such solutions down the Imported Air Force throats ? Too much...
OK, what about purchasing more Rafales, why only MRFA is the solution, isn't the Rafale almost a 5gen aircraft with quite good capabilities. Rafale is expensive, but surely MRFA is not going to be cheap is it ?because russians are not a forthcoming vendor, MoD wanted to buy 9 additional SU-30 mki and 21 Mig-29K, that deal is going no where. some years ago, russians even made fuss about modifications to AC in T-90s.
if the vendor is not proactive to sell their products, as a customer there is no choice but to look for other alternatives.
as far as open competition is concerned, a single vendor situation leads to vendor taking us for a ride. competition gives us space to negotiate.
Nobody is doing charity here, we have a right to try and maximise our negotiating position.
acquisition of rafale is a political decision, if it was left to regular process that acquisition would not have happened.OK, what about purchasing more Rafales, why only MRFA is the solution, isn't the Rafale almost a 5gen aircraft with quite good capabilities. Nope, there was whole fighter evaluation done by IAF back in congi days during 2009-10 and finally IAF themselves selected Rafale as meeting all requirements. So why not pursue it to its logical end, i.e the original no. of 108 (or something) instead of 36 . Rather than redoing the circus AGAIN ? Esp. when you know that the circus takes nearly 10 years before you even get your hands on the first jet ? Isn't it common sense - which I feel IAF lacksacquisition of rafale is a political decision, if it was left to regular process that acquisition would not have happened.
They want Rafales, the tenders are just jhumla and killing time till F4 standard is certified and ready for orders. They want it so much, they won't order Tejas Mk2 even when it's ready, until this 118 MRFA deal gets green signal. They already showed intent to not persue Mk1A orders. It is ridiculous that this MRFA circus is being allowed to be circulated for so long.

hence the use of the word political decision, yes we know rafale passed on technical parameters. yet it was not acquired by previous govt, which makes it a political decision.Nope, there was whole fighter evaluation done by IAF back in congi days during 2009-10 and finally IAF themselves selected Rafale as meeting all requirements. but having acquired rafale, now it's up the muricans to offer a better deal.
MRFA is just MMRCA with another name.
why exactly MRFA is still going on? i guess we will have to wait for some retired ACM to write a book about it.
IAF want 114 rafales, and mrfa is a process to acquire them.It is ridiculous that this MRFA circus is being allowed to be circulated for so long.

CAATSA?IAF want 114 rafales, and mrfa is a process to acquire them.
IAF already described to MOD, why su30 can't replace mmrca/mrfa needs.

MoD waiting for mwf to fly, after that GoI buys additional 36 rafale and mwf to fill mrfa requirement.
IAF shortlisted both eft & rafale, both UPA & NDA started process to acquiring 126 jets but suddenly GoI cancelled the deal and acquired 36 rafale, its political decision.Nope, there was whole fighter evaluation done by IAF back in congi days during 2009-10 and finally IAF themselves selected Rafale as meeting all requirements.
