Reasons not to believe it:-
1.) My take, instead of news beat.
2.) It was a joke I made on another thread.

WTF do they mean use each other's aircraft? Do even NATO have such arrangements in place? UAE and Indian Rafale have differences, right? And how are they going to account for equality in use of life of the airframe? How are they going to plan for contingencies in case bad maintenance of one leads to loss of aircraft of another or vice versa leads to loss of trained pilot for the other? Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Don't think this dude is any different.
Probably more like facilities, didn't they refuel our Rafale's? It is not impossible to ave an agreement like that if our economy grows and supports theirs in turn.

Facilities is definitely doable. The article was talking about jets. These so-called defence journos are all dunces.

Journalism has been dead since the phones took over and then smart cell phones and internet killed it. It's just regurgitating vomit now. Also generally these type of fleet sharing is based on lopsided ratio's, India is certainly below its minimum fleet numbers while UAE has more than what it needs. I highly doubt this agreement until the balance shifts to our favor which may happen if Tejas line roots go deep

Nothing surprising, uncle Sam always sides with the sullahs to keep Bharath in check. USA - continuation of the empire by other means, so why do we have this insane expectation that they will be friendly to us ?

Dhruvastra, helicopter-launched Nag Missile, test-fired successfully; Check key features
The helicopter-launched Nag Missile (HELINA), which has now been named as 'Dhruvastra', is a third-generation fire and forget class anti-tank guided missile system mounted on the Advanced Light Helicopter.
New Delhi:
Trials of India’s anti-tank guided missile ‘Dhruvastra’ has recently been successful at the Interim Test Range (ITR) in Odisha. The helicopter-launched Nag Missile (HELINA), which has now been named as 'Dhruvastra', is a third-generation fire and forget class anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) system mounted on the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH).

Last year, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) carried out three successful test firings of the NAG missiles in the Pokhran firing ranges.

According to DRDO website, "HELINA (Helicopter based NAG) is a third-generation fire and forget class anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) system mounted on the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH). The system has all-weather day and night capability and can defeat battle tanks with conventional armour as well as explosive reactive armour."

"The HELINA missile can engage targets both in direct hit mode as well as top attack mode. HELINA Weapon Systems is being inducted into the Indian Army (IA). A variant of HELINA Weapon System called DHRUVASTRA is being inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF)," it added.

Earlier, the Defence Acquisition Council approved the procurement of the DRDO-designed and developed NAG Missile System (NAMIS) at the cost of Rs 524 crore. The induction of the NAG missile is expected to give a quantum boost to the Indian Army's capability.

According to Army technology website, key design and features of the NAG missile are:

1. Nag is a third-generation, fire-and-forget, anti-tank guided missile to support both mechanised infantry and airborne forces of the Indian Army.

2. The missile incorporates an advanced passive homing guidance system and possesses high single-shot kill probability. It is designed to destroy modern main battle tanks and other heavily armoured targets.

3. Nag can be launched from land and air-based platforms. The land version is currently available for integration on the Nag missile carrier (NAMICA), which is derived from a BMP-2 tracked infantry combat vehicle.

4. The helicopter-launched configuration, helicopter-launched NAG (HELINA), can be fired from Dhruv advanced light helicopter (ALH) and HAL Rudra (ALH WSI) attack helicopter.

5. The Nag anti-armour guided weapon’s airframe is built with lightweight and high-strength composite materials. It features top-attack capability and has high immunity to countermeasures.

6. The missile is equipped with four foldable wings and has a length of 1.85m, diameter of 0.20m, wingspan of 0.4m and weight of 43kg.

7. A blunt nose cone houses the guidance system, while the middle portion accommodates a compact sensor package and the main charge of the warhead. A booster rocket motor is located towards the rear. Four tail fins are fitted at the rear to stabilise the missile while in flight.

ARMY, IAF INDUCT ADVANCED ISRAELI SPIKE LR-2-NLOS ‘TANK KILLERS’
NEW DELHI:
The Army and IAF have now begun to induct advanced Israeli anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) with longer ranges and greater armour-penetration capabilities, amid the two-year long military confrontation with China in eastern Ladakh reports TOI.

The Israeli `tank killers’ were ordered under emergency procurements last year due to the troop stand-off with China, which is yet to show any signs of de-escalation. The sheer utility of such weapons has been demonstrated during the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Ukrainian troops armed with US-origin Javelin ATGMs and western next-generation light anti-tank light missiles (NLAWs) have destroyed hundreds of Russian tanks and other armoured vehicles since the conflict began on February 24.

The Israeli family of Spike ATGMs is equally lethal and versatile. The Army is inducting the Spike LR-2 launchers and missiles, which have a ground strike range of 5.5-km, while the IAF is integrating its Russian-origin Mi-17 V5 armed helicopters with Spike NLOS (non-line of sight) missiles that can destroy ground targets around 30-km away.

“Both the fifth-generation ATGMs are being inducted in limited numbers under emergency procurements to plug certain operational gaps. The much larger requirement for ATGMs will be met through `Make in India’ projects,” a top defence source said on Sunday.

“The pilot-controlled NLOS missiles, which can be armed with different kinds of warheads, are primarily meant for specialized 'behind the hill’ missions by IAF helicopters,” he added.

The IAF, incidentally, has 22 Apache attack helicopters, armed with Stinger air-to-air missiles, Hellfire Longbow air-to-ground missiles, guns and rockets, inducted under the Rs 13,952 crore deal with the US in September 2015. The Army, in turn, is getting six Apaches under a Rs 5,691 crore deal in February 2020.

The Spike LR-2 missiles can be used with either a tandem HEAT (high explosive anti-tank) warhead, with 30% more armour-penetration capability, or a smart multi-purpose warhead.

The Army had earlier also inducted a limited number of an earlier generation of Spike tank-killers, with a strike range of 4-km, to meet immediate operational requirements till the indigenous man-portable ATGMs being developed by DRDO were ready.

With a huge deficiency in different kinds of shoulder, vehicle and helicopter-launched ATGMs, the Army has been demanding third and fourth-generation ATGMs for well over a decade.

The force’s existing inventory largely consists of second-generation Milan-2T (2-km range) and Konkurs (4-km) ATGMs, produced by defence PSU Bharat Dynamics under licence from French and Russian companies.

The indigenous helicopter-launched third-generation ATGMS, Helina for Army and Dhruvastra for IAF with a maximum strike range of 8-km, have been successfully tested from Dhruv advanced light helicopters but are yet to be inducted till now.

Similarly, DRDO tested the man-portable ATGM, with a 2.5-km strike range, in its “final deliverable configuration” in January this year. But it is still some time away from induction.

MiG29 is the perfect point defence interceptor - Tejas will have a slower response time. MiG29 can climb to altitude and engage enemy incursions much quicker - just like the MiG21
hmm, do you think future tejas mk2 will do interceptor or it is also short for that?

Uh I do not think so. By virtue of being lighter, Tejas is able to accelerate faster and besides it should have a quicker starting time than the MiG-29s.

The Biden administration has decided to send more AGM-88 anti-radiation missiles to Ukraine, as the Ukrainian military appears to be successfully employing them to neutralize the threat of Russian air defense systems. The fact that the HARM missile has managed to disrupt the S-400 system - claimed to be the best anti-missile system in the world - is a major tactical development in modern warfare.

Why UkAF/US/USAF/Russian topics in IAF thread ?
''claimed to be the best anti-missile system in the world '' - false claim, even US having better ones.

Most Wild Weasel pilots use the HARM as a decoy at best. HARM is easy to fool if you have the right understanding and tactics. But given how Russia has all the tactical knowledge of a schizophrenic 3 year old ...
