Yusuf unjhanwala on twitter was saying that the rafale deal was a bad one. What are the members take on this. And are we gonna use the funds released by RBI for additional rafales?

Just a thought...

I think we need to have a relook at how AF bases infra is designed. Except for runway no other structure needs to be square, rectangle or having an edge.

My logic is that nature does not build in straight lines, a degree of camouflage can be attained by avoiding straight lines in design of AF bases from top view.

Not talking about big AF bases like hindon, rather about smaller AF bases.

Advantage is a degree of camo achieved when adversary is tracking from location from above. Since AI based systems are being used to track and locate changes in AF base infra, might as well do our bit to confuse them either having permanent structures or movable camo structures.

Am I making sense?

ambala airbase is one such example.. Taxi ways and other infra is quite maze like.. But on the other hand Pak air bases are quite standard based on US Airbases i guess

Why doesn't IAF has airbase in Uttarakhand? In UK there is an airport soon to be international and two ALG in Uttarkasi and Pittoragarh.

Seen bases in Rajasthan? Jasisalmer and Jodhpur?

You'll like them.

Indian Air Force (IAF) chief Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa and Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman flew in the trainer version of the MiG-21 Type 69 fighter Aircraft, earlier today. This was also the last sortie of the IAF Chief in a combat aircraft. (ANI)

IAF chief should not fly these junks they are embarrassment for the nation nothing else imagine what will happen if one of the flying coffin with Chef gets crashed? I would have been happy if they were flying tejas but IAF loves foreign ka maal. If india wants to show itself a counter balance against Chinese in asia that shit will not happen if we keep flying these junks. Tejas mk1a 33 million $ iaf should place 130 tejas to replace them or keep crying a river. That we fly 40 year old junks. Our ace pilots losing there lifes because of these junk pathetic.:crying::creepy:

If the above is true then, Darin III + re engine for each Jag would be about 40 mil $ if not more. But it will only add about 10 to 12 years to the Jag's life. Thus it will be prudent to shelve both the projects.
How many jags have been upgraded to darin 3 already? Since it adds weight to an already underpowered aircraft, would it mean that darin 3 will be abandoned to maintain operational payload, range ? Is it really just left hanging like that?

12. No more will be done for reasons unrelated to the engines. Rest all will remain at Darin II stage
