8x IAF fighters countered 24x PAF jets. If you clearly know PAF was going to retaliate, why were our SAMs not placed strategically ahead of time in a hot conflict, AWACS ready to counter on the EW front and limited jets in CAP? You can choose to be in your own echo chamber but the PAF jets did enter Indian airspace, dropped a few SOWs close to a military installation and left. This is akin to their retaliation with Iranian missile strikes on their western front recently

PAF did not enter Indian border. They tried to cross the LoC as Su-30MKI CAP were pinned down by AMRAAMs, but got ambushed by 2 X Mig-21 Bisons of Abhinandan & Wingman, the attack party had to launch payload prematurely and turn back.

Why SAMs not deployed close to border ? -> Lack of modern SAMs. Whatever we had were used to protect high-value targets (e.g., Srinagar AFB). This problem is resolved now.

Mango people with zero understanding of air combat need to understand it is impossible to conduct squadron-sized CAP round the clock. People think fighter jets are like automobiles can keep on driving for hours and days. No. A full-tank of fuel on a normal fighter jet remains for like, ~2 hours with smooth, non-combat flight. After 5-6 hours of flying the aircraft have to RTB for maintenance & checks.

So if you have like even 6 jets flying CAP that means within a day the entire squadron is down and unavailable the next day. Hate that ? Ask Gujju bizmans to loosen their pockets and buy more jets.

General SOP is 2-4 jets fly CAPs monitoring enemy movement for quick response, and ORP jets are kept ready at nearby bases for quick reinforcement within few minutes. That's what exactly happened.

Okay, I will talk facts with you.

• Did we dominate the Skirmish ? - What is meant by to dominate ? If a 4x CAP stopping a combined strike package of 24x PAF jets from ingressing inside India and hold them off for ~5 minutes (which is a lot of time in air combat terminology) for reinforcements to arrive, then yes we did.
  
  
• Mig-21 Shot Down, Abhinandan Captured - Abhinandan disobeyed SOP and went for the kill in YOLO style, his wingman retreated. Blunder ? Yes.
  
  
• Friendly Fire of Mi-17, Blunder ? Yes.
  
  
• Was the Operation a success ? Let's look at the military objectives.
  • Balakot Airstrike -> Success, message sent.
  • Next day PAF strike package thwarted from ingression & achieving target -> Success.
• Counter-Argument : We lost because we had +1 aircraft lost than Pakistan. To that, I will say military victories are counted on objectives, not casaulties. Soviet Union defeated Germany in WW2. What were the casaulty numbers for Soviet Union and Germany ?

There was always pilgrimage to shiv kauri.even before removal of 370. This pilgrimage site of shiv kauri is handle by same as that of mata Vaishnodevi shrine board (I guess) . Stop emotional RR.

These fckers are infiltrating via Punjab- Jammu border via tunnels and moving within Pir panjal with the help of LoRa radios with mobile creating multiple repeater nodes(nearly impossible to intercept and jam as they are within civilian frequency)
