Last time we reached the worldcup final (2003), our bowlers did excellent work. No team except Australia and pakistan could cross 200 against us. Zaheer, Nehra and J Sreenath were awesome. Even now we have Zaheer, Nehra and Bhajji from the same team. Don't think they will let us down this time. In last series in SA, our batsmans flopped, but bowlers did good job. In sub-continent our simple strategy should be to bat first, make a big score and let the opposition make mistakes under pressure.

INDIAN openers have given a good start. Think we would make a GOOD target. Our bowlers should live upto there reputaion and give a good support to our batsmaen.

Great batting by both Sachin and Shewag. Both have reached their fifties and are going on with their slaughter.

Again the middle order batsmen fail to make up the start given by the openers. A very ordinary display of batting shown by the middle order. They just scored 29 runs for 8 wickets.

A very ordinary performance from India. If they play like this, then they don't deserve to win the world cup.

Dhoni seems to be making all the wrong decisions.

Worst batting ever in a WORLD CUP by the INDIANS. Shame on the middle order batsmen. INDIA lost 9 wickets for just 29 runs.

India can't win World Cup, Dhoni is dreaming: Dean Jones

Melbourne, March 13 (PTI): Given their weak bowling and unimpressive fielding even the high quality batsmen cannot save India's World Cup campaign, feels former Australian batsman Dean Jones who says winning the coveted trophy will remain just a dream for Mahendra Singh Dhoni's men.

"The three main common denominators consistent with all World Cup champion teams are: Your top four batsmen must be of a high quality. They must have the technique to play the new ball, as well as have the power and stroke play during powerplays. Your top four bowlers must be of high quality, able to absorb pressure and bowl defensively in powerplays. If you can't field, don't bother turning up!" Jones said in his column for "The Age". "All this taken into account, I do not believe India will win the World Cup with its current form. Tell Dhoni, he's dreaming," wrote Jones in his article.
Jones said that despite the presence of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag in the team, who can rip any bowling attack to shreds, India cannot win the World Cup.
"Everyone here has a huge regard for the Indian team. They have the batsmen, no doubt. Tendulkar and Sehwag can rip any attack to shreds. But that alone doesn't win the World Cup for India. He is dreaming," he said.
The former Aussie cricketer said that Dhoni's bowling combination comprising Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Piyush Chawla and Harbhajan Singh doesn't match the standards of any of the line-ups of the previous teams.
"Captain MS Dhoni has admitted some of his fieldsmen are very slow. But Dhoni believes he will win the World Cup with this bowling line-up: Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Piyush Chawla and Harbhajan Singh. Dhoni must turn to history to see that this bowling attack will not win a World Cup."

In fact Jones prediction might be true unless Team India gets its sh!t together and work as a well-oiled machine and take care of all the flaws/vulnerabilities that it has shown in previous matched.

Dhoni is being picked up by everyone coz TI was projected as world beaters/true champions and most probable to win world cup to make money from indian cash cow of cricket.Along with hype TI is unable to capitalize on home advantage hence with every below par performance from TI ,its followers world cup dream goes down the drain with every match. :)

AJTR, one match doesn't make or break Team India. India is still the #1 Team in Tests and #2 in ODIs. With all the passion and love for cricket, I would love to see a graceful exit than be termed as match fixers. Hope you get the tone of the post. If every other person from the cricketing fraternity has been speaking of Team India, then we certainly have some merits. And hell yeah! we deserve it. World Cup is not the end of the road! Poor Sania, she married a fraud star.

Because Dhoni has time and again been criticized for being "arrogant" in his decision-making. He could have saved the game even in the very last over, if he had chosen a spinner. He never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity in that last game.

Now all that it's done is given some lesser-known West Indies players chance to call out India's obvious vulnerabilities, and loose-tongues like Dean Jones to have a go.

Besides, what is Dhoni after he took up captaincy? Where is the slog-over specialist he built his clout around?

Tendulkar lost his cool after the batting harakiri in Nagpur

There were a lot of disappointed faces at the end of the Indian innings against South Africa at the VCA stadium on Saturday - none more than Sachin Tendulkar. He had just played his heart out in an effort to put his team in a commanding position from where they could dictate the game. But before he could even remove his batting gear, he could see the advantage being frittered away by one of the shoddiest batting displays in India's World Cup history.

He had kept his emotions in check but could hold it no longer when he went for a shower and saw all the bathrooms occupied by the batsmen who had just committed harakiri. He gave his team mates a piece of his mind. For him it was a sign of 'who cares' attitude. He just couldn't fathom what had they done to need freshening up. He was held up for the shower and had to finish in a hurry and rush for fielding.

The collapse
The Indian middle and lower order batsmen threw away the advantage provided by Tendulkar's 111 and Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir's half-centuries. From 267 for one at one stage, the home team lost their last nine wickets for 29 runs to slump to 296 all out, eventually resulting in their first defeat of the tournament.

Buoyed by the late bowling fightback, South Africa seized the psychological advantage and walked away with the game with three wickets to spare.

Tendulkar was fired up in the field and when the TV camera zoomed in on him, his face reflected the determination. He set a personal example by giving his all in the field, an all-out dash and slide to stop an off drive to the boundary being an example.

Discipline vital
The Mumbai batsman belongs to the old school of cricket where discipline comes first. He is renowned for his commitment to the game and he can't tolerate anyone taking things easy, whether in training or in an international match.

There are numerous examples when the master has taken his players to task for lax behaviour. It's Tendulkar's ambition to help his country win a World Cup during his career, and this is his last chance.

The team is not playing at its best at the moment but with home advantage, he is confident they can go all the way. However, given their inconsistent showing so far, someone needs to stoke the fire of ambition in this team; and there is none better equipped than Tendulkar. However, the inept showing of his teammates meant one more of his gems will go down in a losing cause.

Dhoni: But Mom, We defeated by South Africa, and public are in full anger.
Mom: Wear my sari and then go, no one will recognize you.
Dhoni goes to market wearing saree.
A Girl: Hi Dhoni, how are you?
Dhoni got shocked.
Dhoni: How did you know, I am Dhoni?
Girl: Abeh.. I am Nehra.
