I'm sure they went spare in Dublin... and Glasgow. First Ireland put one past eternal foes the English and then Celtic dump Rangers out of the Scottish cup with three Ranger players sent off. Irish must be all pissed as a fart after last night.

All ye who say indian bowling sucks, what was your opinion about england that day? One day cricket, any bloody thing can happen. england could not defend 327 against ireland. didn't expect them to put it across though and went to sleep early.
all scores have to be in excess of 350 I think if you bat first. India better not get complacent against ireland. They play in bangalore which has never been a happy hunting ground for india.

One thing now is for sure, the group of death is wide open.

Yusuf, I did not say Indian bowling sucks, I condemned a/some players. Look at the fielding too, England batsmen were merrily scoring singles and doubles against India on their own whims. Fielding is also a concern, along with bowling.

completely agree with you, and also dhoni's ego is also making thing worst , why shreeshanth was dropped in first place and replaced with an in experiance bowler,

/\/\/\ Yes, why was Sreesanth dropped? And why was Nehra not brought in? I agree spinners are needed to slow the pace of run scoring, but ain't 1 regular spinner enough? Even Sehwag, Tendulkar, Yuvraj, damn all our batsmen can bowl spin.

Let me be more specific on why 1 regular spinner is enough. If the pitch is spin friendly, not only will the regular spinner get turn, but even Sehwag, we have seen them again and again. If the pitch is not spin friendly, even 4 regular spinners can do nothing.

And also, the Dhoni ego factor! Will talk about that when the time comes!

^^^Tim Bresnan took 5 wickets in slog overs , same way zaherkhan took 3 wicket for nothing in slog over , when yusuf phathan a all rounder is there in our team (who is a spinner)then we required a specialist seamer which could provided verity in our bowling attack, we could add utilized yusuf phathan properly in bowling department

Sreesanth was very expensive in the first match against the BD. And it was thought that Bangalore pitch will spin a lot and therefore Piyush Chawla summoned into the team but unfortunately the pitch was as flat as a dodo.

Ashish Nehra has still some niggles and not totally fit. My hunch is if we are going for 2 spinners then next time it will be Ashwin.

when yusuf pathan a all rounder(a spinner) was under utilized every match , when a genuine spinner is already under utilized so why did you need another inexperienced spinner , more shreeshanth had one off match , but he is a good bowler , just because one off match you cannot drop a player

The thought was Piyush Chawla will get a lot of spin but pitch didn't help. In the hindsight it is easy to judge things but pitch can be unpredictable at times. So you need to take such things, which are beyond anyone's control, into hand.

But the thing is he is the worst bowler in Indian bowling line up. If you were to test him try in other tournaments... world cup is not a joke

See he never got a wicket against Australia, have a bowling average of 48 against England, 38 against Pakistan and 49 against South Africa. Very unacceptable against the major teams. Also the economy rate is poor. I can't remember a single game that he won for India

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/en...orderby=default;template=results;type=bowling

Even Tendulkar can bowl better than him... at least he is a thinking-cricketer. That was poor decision of giving Chawla that second last over against England. Dhoni is good but he keeps on trying Chawla in major matches

^^He did well in the warm-up match against Australia claiming 4 wickets. He adds variety to the bowling being a leg spinner while Harbhajan and Ashwin are off-spinners. I'm not defending Chawla here but he can be handy if the pitch is a turning track.

Piyush Chawla is a must for the match against Ireland. I am sure he will bamboozle the Irish with his googly. It would be a mistake to not play him.

A leg spinner is a match winner. The guy has talent. one off match cannot be taken as the basis for judgement. See what Tahir Imran did for south africa. Leg spin is a difficult art, that is why so few have been successful. But those who bowl well always win matches.

I think the Indian team is getting goose-bumps after Ireland beat the shit out of England.

If India wins toss, perhaps it should choose for fielding as the batting seems very easy in the evening.
