Who was the brain behind upgrading 130 mm M-46 guns to 155/45 'Sharang' standard?

Aside, the OFB upgrade happened after Army found the Soltam upgrade below its 'expectations' or was it a lollipop for OFB?

Afaik, there was a customary tender opening ceremony too.

Yeah, the ban is great news but any idea how the govt might implement it?

Just making it unavailable from Google play won't work.

Tiktok and 58 other chinese app banned in India
Finally!!!

Tomorrow chicom dalla's narrative in India will be:
  • "this is censorship"
  • "this is racism against chinese people"
  • "why give you data only to the west?"
  • "job losses not only among the Indian offices of these chicom companies, but also income losses for thousands of "influencers""
  • Thousands of teen suicides will be linked to this decision
  • This will scare away foreign investors

so basically a notification will go to google to remove it from india specific play store , ISP & telecom operators will ban all knows DNS entries / IP address's for these....

All have to be done legally.. notification etc takes time...

This is the problem of gaining knowledge through whatsapp and twitter ! Its always half baked and in some cases outright false.

India at the present moment cannot recognize Taiwan.
Why ? Because Taiwan considers itself as original China. Essentially when the rebels broke away from main land - they established Taiwan on the pretext that mainland was party driven country and that Taiwan represented the true Chinese culture and traditions.
Why is that important ?
Taiwanese claims on Indian land is no different that Chinese claims on Indian land. Even Taiwan claims Arunachal Pradesh to be part of the original China. Till atleast 15-20 years back their envoy used to main the same.

So if we were to recognize Taiwan , essentially it means we are legitimizing claims on our territory. The only way we can recognize Taiwan is if it voluntarily stops making these claims.

Indian diplomats are very good - if India has not moved on a particular direction then there will be some reason.
Many thanks to you for putting forward this very important and generally unknown issue of geopolitics.

The Government of India “has decided to disallow the usage of [these apps], used in both mobile and non-mobile Internet enabled devices.” This means that Indian users will not be able to access these apps and services through either the mobile app or through a website sometime after today, though it’s unclear if the government will force app stores to delist these apps on mobile app stores on top of blocking these services on an ISP-level.

All Indian cellular operators and broadband ISPs have been ordered to nullroute these apps, and their DNS services will scrub all backend URLs of these apps. At DoT-level, the NIB (national internet backbone) will filter out all traffic to these apps. Simultaneously, both Apple and Google have been told to remove these apps from their stores in India, and block their installs.

Sure, you can use VPNs, but once an app is de-platformed in a country, its main revenue model is essentially gone, and a vast majority of people won't use VPNs, as has been seen by porn site revenue drops from India once the porn site bans went live. There's till a minority that uses VPNs.
what if tik tokiyas still make their videos and upload on Instagram?I have seen that happening a lot

.......not having to be worried about national security and becoming a wealthy nation? Like all US allies
that's the PROBLEM. I didn't tell alliances with them will be BAD. National Security is national issue, outsourcing it (just like you said) is a national disaster (more so in our case because our dumb politicians care TOO MUCH about THEIR public image).

India is citing section 69A of the Information Technology Act in its decision to ban these 59 mobile apps. Section 69A of the IT Act reads as follows:

69A. Power to issue directions for blocking for public access of any information through any computer resource.–
  1. Where the Central Government or any of its officers specially authorised by it in this behalf is satisfied that it is necessary or expedient so to do, in the interest of sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of the State, friendly relations with foreign States or public order or for preventing incitement to the commission of any cognizable offence relating to above, it may subject to the provisions of sub-section (2), for reasons to be recorded in writing, by order, direct any agency of the Government or intermediary to block for access by the public or cause to be blocked for access by the public any information generated, transmitted, received, stored or hosted in any computer resource.
  2. The procedure and safeguards subject to which such blocking for access by the public may be carried out, shall be such as may be prescribed.
  3. The intermediary who fails to comply with the direction issued under sub-section (1) shall be punished with an imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years and also be liable to fine.

  4. All smartphone manufacturers have been ordered not to bundle these apps with their phones (as bloatware), and to remove these apps from their proprietary app stores.

Now these are the cons mentioned be chincoms.

So let me mention the pros and help people understand why this an important step.

1. To help put a stop to glorification of love jihad (Tiktok is notorious for this)
2. Hate speech
3. Revenues
4. Looks culture (basically creating a fake standard of how you must look to look cool.)
This can cause adverse mental effects on a kids.
5. Sexualizing minors (again tiktok is notorious for this).
6. People actually doing something productive.

Look at this video for example:-
