If you can figure out how these receivers are working, then you can also figure out a way to jam the signals. Just a guess, there is no other reason for the Indian army to buy Chinese GPS devices other than to reverse-engineer and understand its working.

these are civilian receivers . PLA will be using different military receivers with support for encrypted channels .

most likely explanation is they are cheap or army wants additional support of chinese beidou along with GPS and NAVIC.

Encryption won't help here. GPS receivers are strictly, as it suggests, receivers. If we can just figure out the frequency and modulation of the BeiDou satellite transmissions, we can populate the frequency range with white noise to jam the GPS signals.
