Ahh so finally an age old saxon dream/nightmare of forging "Evil" axis of China Russia Iran NK is realised now.
Severe implications for India - now there is ditch in front (China + Russia) and trench (US ) for us. Had Indian Armed forces doubled on indigenous solutions for past 2 decades - India could have truly practiced non aligned principles now..... but alas.

Don't fall for such traps by the US. Russia is still an ally of India.

One I can think of is no weapon support to India.

mate Friendship alliance is always from Govt -> to people level You just need to check videos of common Russian. Most young Russian consider China ally .. India does not figure. Why is that so? coz china penetrated Russian administration long back. Russian state media RT few years back was giving competition to DW and BBC in bad mouthing and stereotyping Indians. Does that mean its because Russians are against India? No! it simply means Russia is realigning and did what it required to make that realignment feasible.

India is not even a top ten trading partner for Russia. We have probably received the best of Russian weapons not too much left on that side? Years ago Russian high ranking official was in India and he was commenting on the Indian missile program . He said India had advanced to a point which could even challenge Russia??? We have moved mostly towards indigenization of our missile program only recent joint ventures are Brahmos and Barak

Our discussion was on Russia. Our discussion isn't on the US.

A lot of problems in the Indian subcontinent are caused by the US, but their solution is not found in Russia.

Umm no this is a misnomer. Russia under Yeltsin came under US/west influence immediately and again during that time we saw some hand wringing by russians. Things improved once under Putin, but as it happens in Geo Politics.. realignment happened. Russia knew about this current inevitable realignment, if west went on with their aim of poking Russian bear in the eye and and in encroaching its territory.

The first INS chakra nuke submarine we got always had a USSR officers along with Indian officers. INS chakra 2 only came through once India agreed for exorbitant refitted Gorshkov and Mig 29K combo. Russia never shied in seducing or killing off Indian officers when it suited them. So lets not make saint out of them. In 71 war, Russia was primary reason we never went in PoK and Pakistan deep further.
