by now murican & european MIC must have crunched their target revenues from next big war, if afghan war cost was 2.3 trillion $, they'll probably target atleast 10 trillion $ war economy for the next big one.

My assumption is that the China's confrontation with US will be at SCS rather than Taiwan Straits.

We would not be able to sit on fence this time. We will have to make move accordingly.

But honestly, I don't think China is going to fight any major war in near future. They are very stretched from all side.

Can Chinese really fight India in the Himalayas

How has the India’s preparations to thwart Chinese evil designs, after the Galwan River clash, three years back, have come up? There was a similar Tawang area clash with bamboo stick and fists, a few months back. It would appear that India carried the day and Chinese learnt the lesson. That does not mean that the overconfident Chinese are sitting idle. They are preparing for the upcoming spring.

My understanding is that Chinese by and large have been permanently thwarted unless the mischief makers like them search for opportunities and continue their nefarious activities.

1. We have additional 50,000 troops on top of whatever we had before. That matches the Chinese buildup.

2. Our infrastructure buildup to the border has upgraded very well. We can rush troops, military hardware to the border sooner than ever before. The Chinese had the advantage before, but not anymore.

3. Indian military firepower has undergone a tremendous upgrade. India can match Chinese military hardware ….. gun for gun, rocket for rocket etc.

4. The Chinese rocket force which they seemed to be very proud (Reference, a book by The Force Magazine website owner P Sawhney) and who predicted three years back that Chinese can invade and capture all of Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh in a matter of weeks. That prediction has been laid to rest with the arrival of Indian rocket force, newer tanks, UAVs, a very efficient artillery system and highly motivated troops. The Chinese will get a return salvo for every rocket they fire at Indian positions. So they have no advantage.

5. In last three years numerous cases have come to light of poor quality of Chinese military hardware. The latest being Chinese supplied UAVs to Pakistani Army, who found them defective and unusable. That is big advantage for Indian military. It was pretty well known before about the poor quality of Chinese military hardware, now it is confirmed.

6. Much of the so called, modern Chinese military hardware is in the east opposite Taiwan, Japan and China Sea. They do parade around some it including their stealth fighters in Tibet to intimidate India. Unfortunately, their much talked about stealth fighter was tracked by Indian Rafale or Su-30Mki, rendering it pretty useless in a battle.

So I do ask a question from the China supporters in India and in this forum that …… do the Chinese wish to risk a debacle with India in the near or distant future?. With all preparations to thwart Chinese military adventurism in place in India, do they wish to risk a defeat and loss of prestige?…….. I don’t think so. Hence, what are the Indian writers, journalists and slogan shouting politicians are afraid of? The Chinese only wish to intimidate but not fight. To give you an example….. with each passing month any Chinese ability to grab Taiwan is diminishing; US has made up its mind to defend Taiwan with all their force. It is a big loss of prestige for China.

So have self confidence….. do not listen to Chinese propaganda.

I do not think they will get to nbr 3 before imploding under all that debt. Sooner or later, US's gamesmanship with its debt is going to run out.

It does matter what you think. It matters what they think. And from my reading stuff in Chinese internet, SinoDefence. They feel taking on India is easier then taking on Taiwan. At the end of the day, in their words "Chinas west coast is vulnerable to western bombardment. But in case of Tibet, India's Delhi is vulnerable to full mass scale bombardment of thousands of missiles that China has on disposal. For India, it's much harder to attack Chinas heartland - the central plains. While for Tibet, china won't care much. For every Tibetan killed, china will be able to portray India infamy and will be willing to go against India "
