20-25 years is a very small time frame for any fighter jet life...and we are assuming that US will support us in war with china....

I am all for adding more jets... that's needed but not from US of A . Buy more rafael's...they are at par with US hardware and french have supported us when needed like russians....

I don't think anybody will ever have any confusion regarding superiority of Rafale over secondhand F16/F18s (or even firsthand F16/F18).

point is, will we be able to afford Rafale (114+) without disturbing other requirements? if yes then good, else we've to deal with 32/34 squadrons till mwf, orca etc comes into picture and I don't think that time frame is less than 15 years (or 12 yrs, very very very best case scenario)

The Chinese AWAC's KJ 500's at the Hotan Air Base's . We need to strike the Hotan Air Statione's at all cost's . I have already made a scenario's regarding this put it on the Shaksgam Threade's .

Why we cannot afford them is the question... already we have LCA flying and the life cycle for next development is very less now...with LCA maturing it will only fasten the MWF / ORCA proces.s.... wheel is invented... its just a matter of fine tuning the edges

This is why you require a better radar to detect an AAMRAM launch early. Else its attrition game.

So our IAF pilot would have to abort at least at this specific altitude way before 70 miles (112Km) considering BARS radar of MKI has a max range of scan mode of 160 miles. Thank goodness. Other MKI can detect an AAMRAM launch and share the info to other 3rd gen jets we have.

Armed with the NGARM's , SAAW's and R 77M's missile are enough to take the entire base , and we take out their's 8 percentages of the all PLAAF's combat aircraft's in a single air strike's . And there you have a total control of the skies's . I explained it's in a great details on the Shaksgam Threade's .

Well , the Hotan Air station is a lage air base and with atleast two operational runway's and almost 60 HAS's in a group of 4 each by 8 and AD's around the air base so we will need atleast that much weapon's to wipe out in a single strike's . The Hotan Air station can hold atleast 100 Aircraft's at a single time's .

Well the Hotan Air station is a lage air base and with atleast two operational runway's and almost 60 HAS's in a group of 4 each by 8 and AD's around the air base so we will need atleast that much weapon's to wipe out in a single strike's . The Hotan Air station can hold atleast 100 Aircraft's at a single time's .

Attack with a whole different assortment of weapons. Glide bombs would also be
good for this base.
