They can be maneuvered to some extent in their orbit.. But, i think they would use this sparingly.. as it uses precious fuel , which is need to raise the satellite's orbit periodically to counter decay due to atmospheric resistance in low earth orbits.
Like you said, it's strictly for negating orbit decay. They don't carry enough propellant for positioning wherever and whenever there is a trouble and we need an eye.

What they can do is move their instruments on board to 'point' at a region as much as they can.

The word SPY denotes there is something secret about this thing. I was expecting something like orbit and trajectory, making it difficult to be shot out of its orbit.

Resolution etc does not make a spy satellite, rather you can say its a necessary function of the same.
How will you keep something hidden when it's a few miles above ground? Even F22s are visible with naked eye. Heck, ISS shines in the sky when it passes.

Also, there's a limited area you can position your satellite in due to gravity, orbit etc. It's not like they can be positioned anywhere. Any scientist or even a college guy with the right tools can figure out where any satellite may be by math.

The reason it's called a spy satellite because it can spy on people and you can't do much to hide from it. You can't hit at it, you can't stop it. What makes it spy is the instrumentation on board, several sensors that sniff out many secrets.

Why ? This is a clear statement in India's support. Against unilateral change in status quo means they are supporting India. Japan gave the same statement .

Right so stakes were evened out... Move on... Aussies have most probably learned their lessons.. why spoil ur future for past and present...Why have old tales stuck to ur chest like dead monkey...
Forgive and move on, never forget in a hurry.

In recent times, Australia had Kevin Rudd, a sinophile who made an about turn on QUAD, GoI has been very wary of Australia ever since. Also many in the Indian strategic community see Australia as a bit of a lost cause because Chinese infiltration is at all parts of their system, including educational and political. Don’t be fooled by Australia’s present position, while a good attempt, it will take a lot of hard work to get the Chinese out from the stranglehold they hold in Australia. Australian professors in colleges couldn’t even use maps that showed anything different from what China claims because of students protesting. Remember the protests by the Chinese community outside the Indian HC during Doklam? Not an isolated incident, the Chinese students and the community in general is temporarily keeping a low profile because of Covid, it will change soon enough.

Australia is an good addition to the Malabar naval exercises but they will have to show sustained commitment to engender confidence.

The chinese artillery , is made for high power firing at a cost of low shelf life's .
I've seen ot of different chinese weapons (copies) . whether they are tank shells, bvr's,planes artillery
etc.. They all have these huge fireballs and smoke. Not many other countries have these pics for their weapons.
Makes me think they are very crude or defective??
