It is actually the Central Military Commission which is the apex body with Xi Jinping as the Chairman. All of China's armed forces report to Chairman of the CMC. Even the Defense Minister is an errand boy whose primary job is to liaise with the militaries of other countries. He has no input on how and what the Chinese armed forces can or cannot do. Their MEA is a speck on the wall and if they do not want to be sent to re-education camps they do as they are told.

All of these talks with them are pointless because Xi Jinping has made up his mind and the rest of the military and diplomatic apparatus is only following his orders. The Chinese military commanders who show up at the negotiating table are nothing more than messenger boys and with the boss having already made up his mind, they cannot either offer or implement anything substantial to the Indian Army. That is why there has been no implementation of any substantial pull back.
Also there would no easy pullback this time because it would be DOKLAM 2.0

And this would be serious loss of face for China with rest of the countries in Asia rallying around India for their overall defence.
So , they have come here to send msg to all the remaining Asian countries.

Australia shouldn't bank too much on powerful nations such as US and UK. They have their own issue and distance from china.
Weak nations in South china sea have no intention to go all out war.
as for India we are unreliable with no war attitude we always chikhen out from a tough roar from china. We go for diplomatic channels. Talk and desecration even if we have to loose a chunk of land.

Its better to keep their issue private and let china commite first mistake by attacking Asian nations.

Chinese are coming to table for talk only because they want to gear up their attack. When they will be totally ready they will do as they wish where as we will be too busy with sushant singh rajpoot and political doldrums.
A big chunk of land will be lost unless something drastically different happens.

Remember paltu ram trump has a policy of America first. He doesn't want to loose anything . Unless he gains something out of it.

Trump: Austalia cried so beautifully that it was probably the most beautiful back stab we ever did. I say we finish the china wall and let them yellow people rot there.

Yup, could happen.

Then again, it’s also his administration policy to shift military assets from Europe to Pacific.

Can this really happeno_O
He( Lt Gen PC Katoch) spoke my mind... It's a monumental failure on the part of our intelligence agencies along with those who are at helm of enabling such agencies by equipping them with requisite tools & tackles.

USA does not have enough troops in the Pacific theater to counter China. Without Quad, it does not work.

Unless major population centers and strategic assets in China proper are threatened, Chinese behavior will not change.

We are assuming things. What's the guarantee that American hardware will not fail. With Russians atleast we have the advantage of them being able to supply us spares and everything at short notice...Machines do fail .. they are bound to .... but who gives u best support when they fail is what matters...

Adn you think we did not tried this ... EUA is non negotiable....

I call it balancing act we did to keep them happy and show that we are serious but in equal partnership...and there is no begging ... it;s pure business.. they have something to sell and we have a need ...

and you need to stop thinking that they are doing us favor......
Sir please correct me, afaik, the main problem of US EUA is, the buyer won't be able to use those in offensive action against other countries without US approval. there isn't any bar in using those in def.
present and near future (next 20/25 years) geopolitical situation doesn't hint any US restriction against using those against China.
for a second let us forget COVID-19 and present aggression from China. now let assume an Indo-China conflict in the near future. I don't think we will go to war without US backing as now we are still not going to war even with US backing, COVID-19 and all these fiasco. so if there will be any war, it'd have US support. then there won't be any problem of EUA.

against Pak, I think we'd be good without those birds so not bringing that point here.

so imo, 2 more squadrons of Rafale and some (atleast) 5/6 squadrons of F16/F18 (be it used one) will be optimum choice that we can have.

(please note we should have mwf, tedbf/orca in the meantime).
