From Saurav Jha (twitter):
According to ANI commanders have been told to 'prevent Chinese transgressions at any cost', while also ensuring there is no 'extra display of strength or overuse of force'. This is exactly the kind of impossible to follow & politically expedient directive New Delhi should avoid.

This is the problem. There is a kind of psy ops trick that the Chinese have employed which is holding India back from using its full military capability, to China's advantage. The Chinese are nothing. India needs to go all out and annihilate the Chinese. Only then will China back away.
Calm fortitude is the correct term to describe the orders. You don't see a tiger roaring right before he goes to hunt. That tiger is calm, stealthy and remains undetected, unfazed until the moment he pounces and finishes off his prey.
The reason for these orders is to avoid melee fights which is exactly what China wants.

Jaishankar is going to Russia to do usual bureaucrats fuck up thing called talks and talks.
I see Chinese in the meantime doing their usual maneuver so that when PM and general secretary talks are done, Chinese occupy commanding heights.
So, one has to keep an eye on Chinese during these times.
And also one has to show russia now it's place that it has to remain silent.
If Chinese move India during Jaishankar trip India then must double move.
Message will be then sent to both Russia and China.
In the time of a crisis of the magnitude such as the current one, if Indian Foreign office has ever functioned magnificently, it is this .... it is this.

In the last three months India has been able to mobilise the world opinion in its favour, obtained diplomatic support from many, so far has managed to handle Pakistan and Bangladesh in neighbourhood and piece together ASEAN support. Many countries have followed the Indian initiatives of taking economic punitive actions against China. China more or less has been isolated on the issue of its aggressive behaviour internationally,

Except for the fiasco of "Na koi Ghussa Hai Na koi Aaya Hai " for which, I think someone else is primarily responsible, Foreign policy has been handled very well and successfully.

For a good change, the Foreign Office has not meddled with OperationalIssues of the Armed Forces vis a vis China which MEA hitherto considered as their monopoly but has been a helping hand.

MEA can not and must not be Warmongers like Chinese Wolf Warriors - uncouth and uncivilised, offensive and insulting, pushy and arrogant. So far MEA has been conducting diplomacy quite well.

Some of the statements emanating from J Jayshankar are Indian Foreign policy statements and not necessarily of his own. Some people have taken umbrage to his statements on alliance and international cooperation issues. But as time is passing, one can feel the gravity of those policy enunciations.

MEA under Shri J Jayshankar is doing very well, Let us not needle them on groundless reasons. Some people are trying to harm and dishonour our well-done organisations for their own reasons. Let us unwittingly be not part of them.

Presuming it's true. The point is... does IA want it to be postponed till spring next year. Keeping our braves posted in such conditions is a huge effort and committment on their part and huge expenses by the govt. Knowing IA and the current dispensation of decision makers, we would have made huge tactical if not strategic gains by Spring. And yes I already have made a mention of Adhik Maas is my previous post. On our part... we can pay aur taxes.

Looks like they have nothing to bargain for.poor chaps
I have been saying it for the last 2 days:
(1)Chinese called for the meeting not India.
(2) The question isn't what PLA would do before the meeting? The question to ask is What IA would do before the meeting?
(3) That's the Indian Play Book for you.
(4) We are on offensive. They r just posturing.
* The flood lights are seriously on them
