I just noticed Porkis have Junagarh on their map as well. :pound::pound::rofl::rofl:
yup.. their sense of being junagarh part of porkland comes from the fact that than maharaja of junagarh fled to pakistan with his wife's leaving his young wife and kid on tarmac ..to seek help from porkis who never helped the than ruler of junagarh...ultimately guy died in peanutry in lahore and his descendants still roam around the streets taking the title on their heads..

There was even a specific clarification from a Maj Gen that all deployed get the same combat ration irrespective of rank. Such a twat Rahul Gandhi is.
In most of the hard field areas like present-day Ladakh, there is no scope for an officer to cook and eat separately. He lives and eats with the troops. The scale of elective or in lieu items is so less that it is sometimes not possible to issue an item for two officers- say one small coffee pouch for two months which once opened will go bad in two days.

An officer has to accept the culture and habits of his troops. A Gorks officer with Jat troops is unlikely to get rice so he is Roti eater. A Sikh officer with Gorkha troops is a rice eater - rice there times a day. A Muslim officer with Gurkha troops may become a pork eater.

People must know our troops spend a sizable amount for their upkeep. A boy from Haryana or UP keeps a tin of Ghee brought from hi home, A Sardar from Punjab will spend quite a lot for his extra chicken or mutton.... a Gorkha can not survive without his daily chicken. All troops spend money on supplements like Achar and Chutneys, extra spices or extra chilies on preparing good rasam, idli or Dhosa.

A detachment of tank crew or BMP stick or crew when detached cook themselves and enjoy whatever they can buy and officer with them is in line with them..

High altitude in particular is infamous for loss of appetite, loss of taste, constipation and gastric which is accelerated by tinned and preserved food. So everyone is given pickle, Jam, dry fruits etc to maintain appetite and taste without distinction.

Yes item in liu or alternate, choices such as semolina, sago, Dalia, ham, bacon, salami , etc are demanded as in Liu item in peace stations where ten-fifteen officers stay at one place, eat-in officers mess, and can afford to cook separately... That is to cater for taste and it has no financial implications as items are provided in liue. An officer spends minimum three - four thousand per month on messing in spite of free rations. Whereas if ten paise is taken from a jawan in the name of messing that CO will be sealed forever. There are Regiments and battalions who spend their regimental money on improving food standards for Jawans.

Our Pappu wants our Jawans to eat bread, pork, and beef... ?? Horrible..

Ya'll Nibbiars The U.S. Air Force has secretly designed, built and flown a prototype of its enigmatic sixth generation fighter jet, confirms a top US official. Just when main adversaries of USA i.e Russia & China were putting their 5th gen jets through IOC phase, USAF springs a surpise by saying that they have flown a full scale prototype of 6th gen jet NG Air Dominance Fighter.

Wolf Pack.
I had already suspected that F 35 funds were being diverted to something else.
People in Pentagon aren't dumb to spend trillion dollar on just one platform alone.

You are giving Pentagon too much credit, things changed since Clinton. Do not be disappointed.

Pakistan’s delusion of grandeur and very late entitlement claim on Indian territory will expedite freedom of Sindh and Balouchistan.

The MRCA is stuck for the following reasons:
(1) Transcended two governments. There would be a lot of re-negotiations on some unwritten aspects.
Yes. Right. NDA-2 (Modi 1), and NDA - 3 (Modi 2), I agree.

And seriously, what is with the unwritten aspects? Bulk of the work has been done over a decade already!

Can a lamer excuse be put forth in front of a gullible public?

(2) Working out Make in India/Quantum of ToT is complicated and time consuming. There is no previous template of this scale and complexity.
Psst ......................................... Su-30 MKi cough cough.

(3) Risk of political cost due to allegations of corruption.
Then why stick to Bofors after so many years? :D

To be fair to this govt, they did sign a G2G for 36 in 2016 looking at the collusive threat.
What collusive threat do the 36 address immediately? They are only meant to upgrade your 'strategic strike' capability in the short term. That is it.

I cannot really pinpoint why they ain't signing the rest in a hurry. I do not sense funding as a reason cuz I see a very different kind of govt, with a very different attitude and intent, which has been amply demonstrated in its second term.
*Probably they have it all worked out. We don't know yet.

For the bold:

1. You do not sense. I do know. The difference.
2. You do not know. Speak for yourself alone :)

A330s for refuellers - cancelled due to 'funds'

Il-76 engine upgrade - delayed as no 'funds'

Upgrade of critical Airfields - 03 years delayed already - no funds

Perimeter walls and layered fencing of certain SFC units - not constructed as no funds (can you believe that?)

SSNs - delayed

LPDs - delayed

Aircraft Carrier - delayed and cancelled

MCCS - delayed and partially rolled out\

TAC C3I augmentation - Delayed

OFC grid to augment communication in forwards zones - delayed by more than 02 years

Construction of reinforced defences - no funds

Don't even get me started on the communications of Army alone :D

I can go on ...

but then the washing dirty linen in public becomes applicable.

There is a lip service - and there is actual work.

The actual work is selectively done and enthusiastically promoted

Cameras like every other car has for backing up?
Yeah but then again it's a question of cost-benefit. I can see rear view cameras as being useful in a battlefield sense though. But I am an armchair APC designer. Wtf do I know..

Actually most key things are armored and has retractable doors when not in use like sensors. Creative solutions are what an engineer does in a day job. That's why I asked if mirrors are even present on IFV's in a military sense.
Which is what I am saying. A mirror is not a key thing for an APC. And there is plenty of stuff on an APC that can get damaged by a bullet.

For?

I am loathe to be amateur enough to think that ways.
For??? meaning

We are entitled to our thoughts. Given your experience, it may be theoretical scenario. However, theories n practice is bridged by ideologies. Given their ideologies, the scenario in question is a possibility.
We can disagree.

But there is also a positive side to it... If anything comes defective our comander can directly complain to chinese comander on LAC itself .No need to call the vader and loose money on international call .. Our media can also put the blame on chinese if nythng goes wrong . 😂😂
That is a good idea. A truck full of such defective items should be taken to border Personnel Meetings and displayed outside the Chinese hut. The Indian commander then presents those to the Chinese commander and the whole time should be spent in shaming the Chinese rather than listening to their useless arguments of LAC.

I only remember those days when HMT watch on the wrist was a big danger as the Chinese would snatch that by all means and give anything in exchange .... usually his greatcoat.

From Neeraj rajput twitter account.
C17 in Ladakh with fighter jet (mig 29??) In the sky.

Chinook

Large number of trucks

Special tents
These appear to be OFB tents and one can make out their quality, bad shape and size.

The best tents are Russian type/ design medium and small, green, white or OG coloured round arcetic tents with inners made out of thin cloth that makes parachutes. Those get warm quickly even with a few candles...

I have been saying this time and again. It is a matter of great shame that where our border of more than six thousand km is in mountains and highaltitutde icy cold ares, have dedicated ordinance factory for making high altitude clothing and have dedicated Lab to carryout resrch in that field, we are importing high altitude equipement.

We should have been there largest exporter of that equipment. We should have had the best high altitude equipment in the world. A country with the largest peaks, largest mountairing adventure visitors, Banus in Delhi are happy doing politics and finding ways and means to subjugate the soldiers rather than help the,

Where is made in India and atmanirbhar where even ECCI capability of the country has been completely sabotaged by Ordinance Factory Kanpur and DRDO labs. No one is bothered about it.

For the bold - From Companies based in Sri Lanka!!!!!
