TBHs what China did was very childish. They released pics because they got their ass handed to them in Tawang.

regarding PLA wanting talks to not happen, i have started to lean towards this notion.
it is in PLA's best interest to ensure talks do not produce results, it keeps GoI and IA off balance.

I was also thinking the same thing, but I think what @mokoman theorized is actually correct. There will be a compromise in today's flag meeting and China will move back/disengage.
China knows if India wants to curry good favour from China we won't release images to anger them, hence this is the last one-bad-thing before turning good, which they hope will be forgiven by MoD babus.

Let's see what happens.

I think it is widely understood (but not written) that there was a mutual agreement of not releasing any pictures of captured/dead by either side. Till now it was followed quite diligently by both sides.

Tawang is heavily fortified... Chene will be ass handed everytime if they try any grandmasti in Tawang sector. I guess IA retaliated for middle sector incursion few days ago, in Tawang sector as it's our backyard and chene have no levarage their. What he wrote in the report was, he got access to the debriefing reports of the officers and official report to the government from the army and it stated that indian troops handed chinese back 16 bodies. He didn't personally saw any dead bodies because journos are not allowed in war zones ofc
