Is the Camera using some cloud drive for storage????

If the cameras are IP enabled, they can send the streams to the server the NVR that could be on the LAN or off site. The server can store the video for n number of days depending on the associated storage. If this setup is totally isolated i.e. air gaped, then the setup could be okay.

However, at times the server might need software upgrade or some tech support then access to update servers or support teams in CCP land might need to be arranged, this is problematic.

Taliban and the CCP are a match made in heaven (in the dark smelly buildings of Islumabad in this case). Two genocidal organizations getting together is bound to happen. Expect a massive aid (high interest loans) package from Swina for Afghanistan. Then expect Mullah Baradar, Katora Khan, and Xitler doing a photo op , with Russians issuing a statement like “we welcome Chinese engagement in Afghanistan” to piss off the West. This whole charade is being orchestrated by Russia and China who simply want the West gone from Central Asia, which both considered their backyard. So, this much is clear.

Security experts have long alleged that Hikvision technology is insecure, and that poorly written code could allow unauthorized users to access camera's metadata and video footage.

In May 2017, the US Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team (ICS-CERT) issued an advisory revealing the presence of a backdoor into Hikvision cameras that was classified as “remotely exploitable/low skill level to exploit.” The researcher who discovered the loophole, confirmed that the backdoor “allows unauthenticated impersonation of any configured user account.”

Hikvision has not been allowed to sell its products to US government agencies since August 2019, China has 41.88% ownership in Hikvision.

Hikvision signed deals worth $272 million with the police in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region, where Uighur Muslims are subject to invasive security measures.
