If daughter lighting pyre condemns the atman to spend eternity among mortals, then ABVajpayee's also will be giving company to Gen BiRa.

The best thing that differentiates Hinduism from Abrahamic faiths is its water like quality - take the shape of the container, flow with the changing times while still retaining its life-giving properties. A few sections of people tried to "own" hinduism and dictate how it should be practiced. But these are the days of harijan priests and no one "tells" how things should be done. To each his comfort and to his maker. Faith is ultimately to provide succor to a troubled minds and lives.
Liberalization is fine but be careful as most people don't have the capability/intellect to keep themselves in check.

Neither extreme Trad nor extreme Liberalization is ideal. A healthy situation would be a mix of Liberals and Trads.

Yes of course being a liberal is absolutely fine but only to indefensible. If you are being a suicidal liberal to predators like Momins and Commies , you are screwed. You are destined to perished. You see what happened to Buddhist Afghanistan, the Bengali bhodroloks in East Pakistan!! Never before, ever after. Irony is they were the frontrunner in the thikedari of liberalism since the time of Qutb al-Din Aibak but don't learn. If you don't learn from your history, you will pay from your geography.

This is quite a tempting discussion. though i feel this is off topic in terms of this thread.

Let me give my 2 cents:
Libreal , Trads is quite a shallow level to get tied to. Let us go deeper and ask ourselves what does any way of living tend to achieve? what is the end goal of following any school of thought - In my opinion its about IMPROVEMENT as a individual, it is about exploration of human potential and how things can be in harmony within you and around you. Traditions in my opinion must be the assimilation of knowledge of scientific nature, which works best for a human as per physiology and psychology - Body and Brain. If you can answer why lighting of pyre by a specific gender improves anything then yes - we should follow that tradition. Now we might not have answer to why a certain Tradition exists or what is the scientific rational behind it ,that does not mean such an explanation does not exist.

Now next question comes in how do we bring things to conclusion if we do not have any answer or simple we do not have the means to reach to an answer.
I think we should observe ourselves and generations before us , they went more with traditions than liberalisation. Are we seeing improvement in human race in right proportions that we should be seeing or things and though processes of today are just increasing entropy in our lives and society as a whole?. You might say that people are inventing things at a break neck speed but how does those things improve the quality of life, how does those things elevate the human intellect to achieve a greater good.

Whatever we follow should improve things across silos. Specially in terms of society i have less hopes on liberalisation. Tell a man to choose as he wants to and he will most probably destroy himself , freedom is any form is tough to handle. Our systems and scriptures made us learn how become ready with body and mind before taking things in our own hands. There is a procedure - there has to be one - There is need to learn and then ask the right questions.

Many references to Kobe Bryant's crash..

Please delete if already posted. The v5s don't have a TAWS (Terrain Avoidance Warning System) since they operate in the mountains and know they will be close to ground.

It had a radio altimeter, but that's a silent gauge that the pilot needs to read specifically to register it's input.

Also the heptr was in a grey zone- not communicating with ATC when it crashed and was probably going low and slow for landing approach. And MAY have decided to go around when the fog suddenly showed up. The banking for turn MAY have caused the huge rotor blades to hit a tree, getting destroyed, resulting in loss of controlled flight.

two possibilities:
probably they want go with Naravane sir but not sure about how that will go down within the tri-services, thats why they may be testing waters with revival of CCoS. If he does well , they they will convert him into CDS
or
They are buying time without impacting the integration efforts. They already have someone else in mind, but that person's onboarding will take time due to constraints.

My hunch is he is 'not' going to to be the next CDS.

What a horrendous comment......The only people who do not pledge allegiance to the Indian constitution are the anti state people, insurgents and separatists.
You have basically insulted thousands of servicemen who sacrificed or put their lives in crossfire.

Our Constitution is not perfect it is flawed as well , and these flaws are exploited by these separatists in the name of freedom of speech and human rights.
A general should not get underpinned in any scenario where a certain article of constitution can become a chance for seperatists to create buzz, A general should be unfazed , just like when rawat sir was COAS, major Leetul Gogoi got the 'commendation card' for the Human Shield incident. The human rights and saviours of constitution created a lot of buzz about it , but Gen Rawat Sir was unfazed.

Our Army will always be an instrument of the state's will - this is pretty much the DNA of our army, but Army should strongly enforce things which promotes the national security standpoint even if it is in violation of Constitution from the view of Separatists and LW as these people are just there to exploit the flaws of our constitution.
