One reason is that we are not as indigenous as we seem to think at least at the point of conception of that JV.....things are certainly improving for us and more rapidly with increased attention by Modi govt.

Russian have 49.5% stake in bramhos corporation. Which means russian are investing money into everything bramhos corporation does. That is also their corporation.

not necessary, it could be that their investment is intellectual property. there is a reason why FDI in defence companies is in mere millions $.

No it's not a loitering munitions.
It's a surveillance uav for naval purpose. It was designed in Israel
Works that this uav can perform are

• Deep sea and coastal reconnaissance
• Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) security
• Ship self-defense
• Offshore facilities security
• Gun fire direction and BDA
• Target acquisition for precision-guided weapons
• Ready for use from any type of vessel

It was modified by soviets for Indian missile programme.
No country in this world will ever give it's missile engine technology to anyone.
Even engine for brahmos missiles we have to import from russia

How many are reasonably confident that we are more indigenous now atleast in strategic missiles? I am somewhere around 50%....doesn't isro make its own engines? So why do we need Russia now that we have the base to build these things from fundamental level?

Afraid, it does not work that easy....these things undergo real time testing and lot of scenarios and personnel training in operations and management. Unfortunately it takes time unless all of that already occurred....
