But that won't work at night I guess it cannot accomodate night vission cameras or ir sensors..
its just small prototype , idea itself is interesting . for preprogrammed flight path u cant jam them in anyway only shoot them down. turns a cheap camera into a guidance system.

drdo students also seem to have build something similar .

let's try and get clarity on this one more time. my understanding is DAC approval is total cost to govt for that particular project i.e acquisition cost + other ancillary cost. ancillary could be MRO, tooling, staffing and infra etc.

2009 deal of first 8 P-8I was 2.1 billion $.
incase anyone knows how much was approved in DAC for first tranche P8I deal, do post it here? couldn't find it.

This approval shows incredibly expensive estimates.
9 MRMR and 6 MMMA for $3.5 billion.
That's ~ $230 million per aircraft. Keep in mind that MMMA won't even have an anti-submarine feature as it's for the Coast Guard. It makes it as expensive as an bigger and better Boeing P8I.
