That is 27 regiments of tanks, 20-25 regiments of mechanised infantry, 30 regiments of self propelled artillery, 4-5 squadrons of attack helos, 2-3 squadrons of trainer-fighters, 20+ regiments of mbrls, that is some serious order book.

But why only 1 battalion of HIMARS?
Do they have personal to man them?

HIMARS will be used like golden bullet, so still they need missiles, anti tanks.... Hopefully we can get some crumbs. Korea hit a lottery their. They can now fund their future projects with ease. Fluff

In June 2021, the Indian Army issued a request for information (RFI) on the planned procurement of 1,750 units of indigenously developed, amphibious tracked FICVs and Vendors who did not respond to the June 2021 RFI were given till 1 March 2023 deadline to express an interest.

The Indian Army announced on December 22, 2022, that an acceptance of necessity had been granted for the procurement of new Futuristic Infantry Combat Vehicles (Tracked), confirming that prototype trials after completion of TEC will begin in 36 months and L1 and L2 vendors will receive a 60:40 split order quantity for manufacturing of 1,750 units.

Owning intellectual property (IP) of the FICV by the local firm that has sent their bids along with the partnership with a foreign vendor will require the local firm to make design changes or evolve their design to own IP rights as mandated by the Indian Army Requirements.

Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL) has promised to roll out its own FICV prototype by 2024 powered by a 600 hp engine with an automatic transmission that can carry 3 crew with 8 soldiers and is armed with a Manned turret (un-manned turret as EPP) with FCS, fire & forget top-attack ATGMs, automatic 30mm cannon calibre, co-axial machine gun and a stabilised RCWS with 12.7mm machine gun.

Private firm L&T Defense already has selected Allison Transmission 3040 MX propulsion solution for its FICV prototype and Tata Motors has signed a strategic agreement with Bharat Forge Limited and General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) of the US to bring a highly evolved AJAX Armoured Fighting Vehicle. Two more Indian Private players also have shown interest in the program.

FICV on offer should have a minimum of 50% indigenous content on the cost basis of the total contract value and Project FICV being accorded a funding ratio of 80:20 MoD and industry. According to the Army’s new RFI, approximately 55% of the total number of FICVs will be armed with a main autocannon, with the remainder being specialist vehicles equipped with mini surveillance drones, kamikaze drones/loitering munitions.

The P-800 from which BrahMos was developed is almost identical in terms of dimensions and the maximum range it has is 800km. So from day one our BrahMos were also capable of achieving 800km range but as we're not part of MTCR at that time it used to fitted with only 300km fuel tank.

So all the news you here about extended range or improved variant of BrahMos it's simply the fact that we are exploiting its full potential which was limited not because of some technological lacking but because of international laws.
Well. Russians had put hardware limitations (smaller fuel tanks) and software limitations (the missile would nose dive post 300km) that prevented us; much of the experimentation was figuring out on our own how to reverse engineer the code and overcome the MTCR imposed limitations.

Lets say your Father or Mother is in serious health condition. Now you have a person in your relationship who is a pharmacist and gives good medicine for cold and fever. On other hand you have a specialist sitting at a hospital who has the reputation to cure morbid ailment. Whom would you prefer? The pharmacist in your relationship or the specialist?

You want the soldier in the battlefield to adopt a system just on the basis that its indigenous?
Wrong comparison. Let's say there are 2 medicines , one imported injection which cures quickly but costs ₹ 3L for 5doses and a generic local antibiotic which also cures but takes more time. Which one will you go for first ? Only if the generic doesn't work you will go for the import. I rest my case.

And saying domestic don't work is plain wrong, they do work but not upto the gold std of import army whose requirements are filled from foreign brochures

RQ-4 Global hawk
MQ4 Triton.

Turbo fan engine. Just like Ghatak will have dry Kaveri. We dont know current state of Kaveri's weight . Nothing is being released since long time . If it's below 950kg for 50kN dry thrust we can believe that it will be an amazing add-on to our UAV division.
Not to forget the RQ-170, sir.

If we were a country serious about defense, we would also have done something similar. Just increase military aquisition budget by 15-20 billion for 7-8 years to speed up modernization.

They are on the verge of Russian invasion so obviously anyone, be it a politician in opposition or a person selling fruits will agree with this kind of military spending and won't protest with placards saying we want peace.

But we're not in that position

Chinese have brought 100k troops across border, so unless Xi has given some kind of assurance I don't know wbhy Indian govt. would be so slow and sluggish in modernizing.

As of now; no.
But they also know this and that's why plan to raise some 3,00,000 soldiers
HIMARS will be used like golden bullet
This was there concern too regarding limited number of HIMARS round and that's when they slashed the order and went for local production of ChunMoo rounds
