Wrong comparison. Let's say there are 2 medicines , one imported injection which cures quickly but costs ₹ 3L for 5doses and a generic local antibiotic which also cures but takes more time. Which one will you go for first ? Only if the generic doesn't work you will go for the import. I rest my case.

You are doing the wrong comparison here. I've for a specific reason made it a life and death situation, whereas you have turned it into a life and life situation.

The local antibiotic, if its keeping you in ventilation instead of alive is not something to sought for. The equipment you are supplying to armed forces decide their life and death factor. So if you want to push a soldier to his death just to support indigenization effort, then there is nothing to discuss I believe.

Personally I doubt the number
And IMO that amount will include not only the missiles whatever no they are but also the various support systems and the entire life cycle costs of the missiles and the associated systems.

Possibility also exists that part of the amount is for upgrading older brahmos and it's support system, no reason why they should not be upgraded to the latest standards for commonality and reduced cost of operation
