In IAF excercise Gagan Shakti, they had 9000 fighter sorties (in 2 weeks period i think), let's say 50% were strike sorties, and say each sortie has 2-4 PGMs expended, you can create a baseline. A china conflict though could be much more extended affair.stat for Russia ukraine war is 4700 missiles in 9 months . 1200 in first month .
Russia has been using s300 against land targets too , we have them right , maybe we can use it too .
wonder how they arrived at 20,000 figure for china . doesnt seem like even the russians have that many targets in ukraine .
No, Russians have modified older S-300 interseptor missiles for ground to ground strike roles, this is after they had expended most of their regular missiles.this S300 thing, the one that hit that apartment building in the first week?
The thing is Indian Armed forces have to set their mind at being able to have humongous amount of ammo stockpiles. They have to spend extra money for setting up necessary factories and there have to be years long contracts for ammo with surge capacity capability. If done correctly within a decade you can have a respectable stock but here we have Armed forces returning CAPEX to gov instead of using that for above I mentioned, may God give us brains. In IAF excercise Gagan Shakti, they had 9000 fighter sorties (in 2 weeks period i think), let's say 50% were strike sorties, and say each sortie has 2-4 PGMs expended, you can create a baseline. Another data point the US inventory of air launched PGMs is estimated to b around 400k (including both cheaper JDAM type of weapons and more expensive cruise missiles).
Than it can straight Land on Moon also...
As usual ATAGS bhi Arjun ke line pe jaane vaala hai...welcome Athos....
Arjun 2.0- order minimal numbers that will ensure unit costs are sky high and indigenous content minimal. Then use this as an excuse to get 1000s of imported toys (ATHOS/T90)
Second, the 3rd 100 tranche has only been speculated so far. It was reported they might go for the 200 straight away for tranche 2 but as always it’d it’s too good to be true it is.Is this makes it the 3rd order for vajra isn't it ?
It's just amazing that they gets away with it every time.Arjun 2.0- order minimal numbers that will ensure unit costs are sky high and indigenous content minimal. Then use this as an excuse to get 1000s of imported toys (ATHOS/T90)
all of a sudden the Indian armed forces have decided they’ll only ever provide 10-20% of their required numbers and leave 90-80% to the RFI gods
In next years AI/defexpo u will probably see an article claiming 30 km or something figures are all over the place.Aero India 2023: BDL displays VL-SRSAM
India's state-run Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) displayed its vertical-launch short-range surface-to-air missile (VL-SRSAM) at the Aero India 2023 show being held in...www.janes.com
Range of VL-SRSAM is 50km with altitude of 15km.
Yeah just leave it, there are like 3 posters of QRSAM with different altitude specs I posted, it's plausible to expect range of VLSRSAM as around 30+-5km.In next years AI/defexpo u will probably see an article claiming 30 km or something figures are all over the place.
...anyway did anyone get any updates on ruav's timeline?..is it still on time?
