stat for Russia ukraine war is 4700 missiles in 9 months . 1200 in first month .

Russia has been using s300 against land targets too , we have them right , maybe we can use it too .

wonder how they arrived at 20,000 figure for china . doesnt seem like even the russians have that many targets in ukraine .
PGM ki baat ho rhi hain.

Precision Guided munition.. Smart Bombs.

We also need Excalibur equivalent for artillery. Can't simply import it forever.

There is one from Zeus Numerix. Some one already posted here.
Yes they are working on it to provide guidance kit to artillery round. Same is going on with pgm too Let's see what happens.

These are absolute necessity which we will need even in small scale wars. In the meanwhile increase production of short range ballistic missiles to multifold.

It is a fashion to blame services these days. Look at the delay for tejas mk2 funding, amca funding pending with ccs from 1.5 years, no engine deal till now but still no furore and accountability against govt ineptitude
Arjun? ATAGS? HTT-40? LUH? LCH?

there’s a long list of reasons to blame the services

let’s not forget the PC-7 scam and countless others over the years

Arjun- economic problems, pak unable to buy abrams.
ATAGS - too early to say.
HTT-40 - 70 cleared by iaf
Luh - development stage/ who bring ka226t ?
LCH - no one consider buying a gun without bullets, better to consider a sword, IA/IAF already buying rudra, and once helina proves it worth, then gov consider spending real money to buy these things.
Indian civil services, ias top officers & top bureaucrats no so dumb to spend money into garbage. Finial decisions taken by civilians not military, & civilian gov, goi can over rule any top military decisions.
In simple, if goi spend money for r&d, then they know how good or bad is the results is/was & if it meets minimum capability the product enter lsp. atags, htt40, luh soon enter lsp and major order depends on lsp.
Its sad no one supported arjun mbt - very poor leadership. now fmbt/fifv in limbo
GoI [mod] spends money on R&D once armed forces cleared the requirement, and no other items cants replace those unless R&D having major issues. for ex. arjun- IA not considering buying 70t class mbt, but still buying t72 and its advanced versions including t90.
There is plenty of weapons brought by goi with out trial/test/etc like p8i, c130, m777, ak203, ka226 etc & weapon purchase depends on gov policies.

What is the difference between an 'expression of interest' and RFI?
:crazy::crazy:
I am looking for a laptop to work on my graphics project. If you have any such system, let me know. This is EOI

I am looking for a laptop to work on my graphics project. If you have any such system, let me know about its following specs:
1. Type of processor
2. Type of graphics card
3. RAM in use
4. Storage
etc etc
This is RFI.

What is EOI used for when RFI gives more information?

EOI is done generally to know the vendor. RFI is more product specific.

For example, in case of the laptop I cited, during the first case, I would know who are the vendors who could offer me a viable laptop.
In second case, I would know what model f laptop they could offer me based on which I could decide which model is best suited for me.

@Chinmoy bro did you see ada hale drones poster? Saw whole youtube cry yesterday about its altitude its miss print or something?
For first time, DRDO is keeping specs which has already been achieved or are achievable.

HAL UAVs as general are designed to operate at 50k feet. But HAL is showcasing them to be operable at 30k feet which is basically operational altitude of MALE UAVs. That's the hue and cry all about.

They can get the vendor info from the RFI itself right? Why waste time "getting to know the vendor". All that can be done during EOI can be done during RFI itself.

Yes. But all comes down to administrative procedure.

For RFI, you have to first get clearance from ministry which in itself takes a long time in past. EOI you could release on your own.

Another advantage of EOI as of today is that, you get to know the local vendor available for the particular product. So if there is some emergency procurement to be done, you could directly approach them. With GEM in picture now a days, it is becoming easy to know about the local vendor available with EOIs.

I hope with better engines we will achieve 50k feet first prototype is probably 2 years away
