Indian Army today accorded Project sanction orders to 5 Make II projects. This include counter drone systems , 35 sets of which will be procured; MPKWS , 10 sets of which will be bought and TGM of 155 mm.

No, it cant. CIWS is meant to shoot down incoming missiles. Its a last ditch missile defence, this thing doesnt have that kind of rate of fire.

But it would an amazing main gun for FAC/ASW-SWC kind of boats.

Had Sri Lanka been under our thumb any Chinese ship would have found it's nearest docking port either at gwadar or mainland China only.

Their deployments have significantly increased after our fuck up with unable to handle a useless bankrupt nation at our borders.

I don't know how much of this is true but Alpha Defence is saying the design of XRSAM which was revealed earlier has been discarded as it was just an initial design made by adding a booster to the MRSAM. Now, they are moving ahead with 2 different missiles: ERSAM and XRSAM and both will be inspired from Akash NG.

If both ERSAM & XRSAM are based on Akash-NG, then it might be our own S400 as said by SJha...

You are comparing apple to oranges here.

Do you see Mexico or Canada play US vs china? Do you see Laos Cambodia play US vs china?

What India does is very different because we are a power in our own right and are far away from both countries.

Your comparison makes zero sense because

1) Sri Lanka is at our border
2) Sri Lanka is no large country with resources of its own
3) they are a bankrupt nation living on our doles.

As i pointed out before no matter how great your economic or military influence it is very difficult for you to establish a foothold in a irrelevant country until and unless the nearby power in the region has managed to do a colossal fuck up.

Vlsrsam is 3.9 m long vs camm 4.2 m long , vlsrsam diameter is 178mm vs 190 mm of camm er , still it is 4kg heavier than camm er ?? How ? Are we making a much more dense solid motor casing

Does anyone have a spec sheet mentioning the exact dimensions and weight of the Akash-NG.
From a first glance, it looks quite similar to the MRSAM and hence should pretty much have a similar range if its dual pulse rocket motor is similar to the one used on the MRSAM.

Sir ji, in current configuration it requires deck penetration and I think IN is not in mood for that. So, they have requested for 30mm naval surface gun for which the AoN was accepted which will replace the CRN-91.

Coast Guard should go for this if they want deck penetration.

I always wonder that we have only a few research institutes like drdo, nal, csir while china has multiple research institutes for each weapon segment. This justifies the multiple weapons of same type they develop, although not every thing gets inducted. My guess is these institutions have a excess of funds available to them, like everything in China.
I hope our private cos step up and not limit themselves to screwdrivergiri otherwise drdo hi hai bas.
