DefExpo 2022: Paras Aerospace to showcase its cutting-edge attack drones

View attachment 176327

Mumbai: Paras Aerospace Private Limited, a subsidiary of Paras Defence and Space Technologies Limited is participating in the DefExpo 2022, which is to be held in Helipad Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat from October 18 to October 22. During the event, Paras Aerospace will showcase their advance attack drones that the company designed, developed, and manufactured in India.

Some of the UAVs Paras Aerospace, which has been into defence engineering for the past three decades, will showcase include, high-altitude military-operation drones, logistic-support drones, attack drones, and tracking-and-detection drones. All these UAVs are equipped with AI technology, machinery and algorithms that can solve problems requiring human-like perception, cognition, planning, learning, communication, or physical action and carry out tasks under various unpredictable conditions with little to no human supervision.

Speaking on drones, Pankaj Akula, CEO, Paras Aerospace said, “Drones have proved to provide a strategic advantage on the battlefields today. Right from remote security and surveillance to providing logistics and communications support, drones are playing a crucial role in modernizing the army's capabilities. The drones that we are developing are in line with the government’s policies for making India the drone hub of the world and are designed to meet the harshest of environments to meet the requirements of the Indian military.”

Paras Aerospace’s drones will be in display at Booth No. 14B in Hall No. 9 at the event venue Helipad Exhibition Centre.

Looking at this, the Indian drone industry seems quite promising to me now. I really hope that we achieve self sufficiency in making every kind of drone/unmanned system inhouse itself (be them simple quadcopters to more complex medium-high altitude UAVs like predator, reaper style). We might have a long way to go but I am confident that we will make it happen.

Can't say until they are deployed and imports are checked...we have not seen numbers getting deployed unless disguise is our best way to keep enemies guessing. Either they are getting money to do some prototype scam and vanish into thin air or there is reality and we will see some of these.....I will reserve my enthusiasm about small private players

is this the same kind of machine like that giga press?
IMHO its just a better version of their already existing 15000 ton models with probably better precision.

That is not a big deal. Multiple companies in India possess capabilities to produce 15k-20k tonne presses.
Even my old company had designed a 15,000 tonne concept, never got order for it though.

Gigapress what I've seen have travelling head transitioning in horizontal direction. This one has a vertical one like most of industrial hydraulic/mechanical presses used in India and most of world.
A fixed crown and bottom head with four columns on which slide travels (or one column in this case of hydraulic press).

One unit.
Even if a tandem press, tonnage of each unit or range of units (lowest to highest) is the rated capacity.
At least we used to rate our presses like this.
DId not know that 80kt capacity existed, f-35 some metal plates were stamped using 40kt but I can see subs, ships, rockets and nuclear reactor areas to benefit a lot with that kind of ability to stamp and give it unibody rigidity. Our sweet spot is probably 30 to 40kt?
