I really like that Akinci drone. 5.5tons of payload carrying capacity which includes SOM cruise missile, various small and large pgm's and air to air missile. Also an AESA radar.

Pakistan going to get Akinci drone which capacity exceed 5 tons and chinese winglong 2 which capacity is 4 tons ... Also their minister claiming pakistan ll receive a version of j20 soon . from below article .

Its not that easy. Changing propulsion system will require lot of modification. Depending on building plan hull cut might also be required.

But not impossible, its possible, and 'require lot of modification' plus very expensive.

yes thats takeoff weight . it can carry 1.3 tons of sensors and weapon comparable to american mq9 reaper which we were trying to buy as per the article .

My bad, I misinterpreted MTOW with payload.

I was embarrassed actually, that it had a payload capacity of the lca. Then looked at the schematics and thought it might be a mistake , happens. Its really commendable what Turkey has done, the arguments like it cannot be used in contested airspace all that holds true for now. But its iteration, constantly developed with experience may surprise us.

Rustom 1 developed and rejected.
Rustom H developed and rejected
Now Tapas ( advance version of H ) is giving first semester exams with Zero Commitment from Armed forces.

UN Armed forces:- DRDO haven't developed anything parallel to even Turkey.

First let Army even spend their full annual budget for procurement. They would rather salivate over uber foreign maal rather than buying local. Seriously, what the hell are they smoking. Atleast order something needed when there is money remaining, there are literally hundreds of projects which can be met by local industry products. Even, Stephen hawking would not have been able to understand the rationale of Indian procurement.

Rustom 1 completed its trial way back in 2010. Imagine we have inducted 100 in 2010 even though it may have some problem DRDO will iron out this over a decade and we may have some armed drone or Kamikaze style drone now.

Only IA have shown interest.

Nah, it was proposed but I don't think they have proceeded with it. No searcher uav with PGMs as of now. They are prioritising their own UAVs for this purpose. And in our case it is better to proceed with rustom1 rather than some locha negotiation with Israelis and buying israelie PGMs.
