I repeat: We were a neutral state in 2014, but that did not stop Putin from attacking us.
Ah, yes. Neutral state.
"In early 2008, the Alliance received a letter signed by Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and Speaker of Parliament Arseniy Yatsenyuk with a request to join Ukraine to the NATO Membership Action Plan, but at the NATO summit in Bucharest in April of the same year, the Ukrainian side was refused because of the position of Germany and France. Nevertheless, after that, NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hope Scheffer said that Ukraine would eventually become a full member of the Alliance. "

Thats it ?
These are attempts to justify their intrusion. Well, Ukraine does not want to be part of Russia. The pro-Russian party gets into Parliament with only 12%
If Russia had not begun to bite off our territory, there would have been more. I was also a sympathizer for Russia. But the war dramatically changes consciousness.
Russia has lost Ukraine as a friend.

It's self serving and wishful thinking to deny that hard power doesn't had any reward. Infact Russia greatly benefited from its hard power in Syria. US has been wielding it's hard power all over the globe for decades & China wish to follow the same path as well.
it also must be said that hard power is not foolproof and must be used wisely and smartly.

the USA is very inefficient and has been downright self defeating in its use of hard power since the 2000s.russia has been quite smart and conservative as it does not have as much hard conventional military power as America but it has made many gains in geopolitics by playing their cards right.

US Air Force battle management plane spotted over Ukraine
20211228_100451.jpg

Its primary mission is to provide theater ground and air commanders with ground surveillance to support attack operations and targeting that contributes to the delay, disruption and destruction of enemy forces.
The radar and computer subsystems on the E-8C can gather and display detailed battlefield information on ground forces.

Russians believed the word/written word of a certain people. Are all people worthy of equal amounts of trust?
Every heard of the movie Kingdom of Heaven? main character is Balian of Ibelin. you can read about him on wikipedia. Wikipedia says Balian, in return for being allowed to return to Jerusalem, gave an oath to Saladin that he would no longer take up arms against Saladin. Once in Jerusalem a priest, named Eraclius, absolved Balian of his oath. Balian fought against Saladin. Seems some people believe you can have a priest make your word/oath worthless. Who can you trust?
As seen from Russia, this all means that the words of Western politicians are worthless and should not be trusted. Moreover, practice has shown that even concluded treaties should not be trusted to the end, since, for example, the United States easily withdraws from treaties when they are not of interest to them.
Thus, we can only believe in deeds, not words.
And the deeds of the collective Western alliance show that it is not at all a defensive alliance, but very aggressive. Started and instigated many wars in recent years. Which, moreover, is moving closer and closer to our borders. With the installation of missiles with a minimum flight time, threatening the security of Russia.
From all this, it is concluded that the old days, where everything was decided by the right of the strong, did not disappear.
Well, it turns out that we are moving towards a state of mutual distrust and confrontation. This is a very dangerous condition for the whole world.

Ukraine was a friend of Russia? Really? And in what cases was this expressed?
Was Ukraine a friend of Russia during Kravchuk, Kuchma, Yushchenko or Yanukovych?

Ukraine itself is an anti-Russian project, and under the influence of the West, an ultra anti-Russian project.
An explicit western invasion of Ukraine took place in 2014 on the Maidan, and then continued with the armed suppression of all kinds of pro-Russian people.
If someone thought that Russia would stand aside from such obvious ignorance and humiliation of Russian interests, then he was wrong.

What's the difference for mere mortals whether a missile flies 7 minutes from Estonia or 15 minutes from England. Most of the residents of Moscow will not have time to hide. Automation can retaliate without human assistance. But it is easier for Putin to think in a confrontational paradigm.
That is why I do not want to communicate with the Russian respondent. He is not broadcasting his thoughts.

The difference is about the same as in the case of a fight, you have to receive, catch and dodge the hits of one person in front of you. Or all the same at the same time from several people and from different sides.

It is unlikely to intercept warheads from a space point of impact. This is not its outdated satellite, in which the guidance beacon could be turned on.
There is the film "WarGames" (1983) in which the computer plays in the exchange of nuclear strikes between the US and the USSR and realizes that there will be no winners, so he suggests simply not to play.

Nearly $100 billion stolen from COVID-19 relief programs, Secret Service says
"A minimum of nearly $100 billion has been stolen from government COVID-19 relief programs set up to help businesses and people who lost their jobs due to the pandemic, according to the U.S. Secret Service."

But corruption in Russia, don't mix it up.

This is how corruption has become normal in Russia that Russians seem to have forgotten its meaning? These Covid-19 funds were stolen by criminals outside of Government and not corrupted by politicians or their cronies.

Is the existential threat not enough?
But how does the countries i mentioned (which doesn't share a land border with mainland Russia) joining NATO becomes existential threat. You haven't presented a case for it other than that west didn't lived up to its word.
Wait what is the problem with Poland, romania, hungary, slovakia, Slovenia joining NATO. They don't have border with main land russia. Or am i missing something ?

It does matter.. The farther away the launch, the more time and attempts the defender gets to intercept the volley.. There are a limited number of vectors US has to monitor for an attack from Russia or China.. but, a US missile attack on Russia, can come from US territory, or allied territory, or allied seas..
Also, w r.t hypersonic weapons, Russia would have that much less time, to react to decapitation strikes from Ukraine or Estonia..

These countries are already building a military infrastructure for missile launchers with a minimum flight time to Russia.
