Government of India has been supporting the efforts of States and UTs towards vaccinating all people aged 18 years and above with priority being given to the Healthcare and Frontline Workers. CoWIN has been developed as a platform to manage vaccinations across the country.


There have been some media reports suggesting that even a successful booking on the CoWIN platform for a vaccination slot does not assure one of a Covid-19 vaccine jab. These reports are baseless and incorrect, not supported by full information on the matter.


Co-WIN platform facilitates registration (in both online & on-site modes), scheduling of appointments, vaccination & certification of beneficiary during COVID-19 vaccination process.

Availability of slots on Co-WIN Portal is based on the vaccination schedule published by District Immunization Officer (DIO)/Session site in-charge which in turn depends upon availability of vaccines. States/UTs have been advised that they should publish vaccination slots based on the availability of vaccines. The Union Government has also instructed all States/UTs to give preference to beneficiaries with online appointments than to on-site registrations.

It was noticed that in some cases the DIOs were publishing a session and then in case vaccines were in short supply, the DIOs used to cancel such sessions or return the beneficiaries. This definitely caused inconvenience to such beneficiaries who booked their appointments for such vaccination centres/ sessions. To remove this problem, CoWIN has now provided the feature for rescheduling of vaccination sessions so that the DIO does not have to cancel the sessions. Provision has also been made that pre-booked appointments for a session, also get rescheduled when a session is rescheduled. In such cases now the beneficiary shall not have taken a fresh appointment. The beneficiaries shall also receive an SMS informing them about rescheduling of their session. The system still provides the option of rescheduling/ cancellation of an appointment to the beneficiaries.

Government of India has been supporting the efforts of States and UTs for an effective Vaccination drive under the ‘Whole of Government” approach since 16th January, this year. In order to streamline the availability of the vaccine doses, Central Government has been constantly in touch with the vaccine manufacturers and has opened up different procurement options for states/UTs since 1st May 2021.


There have been some unfounded media reports on no certificates issued post COVID vaccination. These reports are incorrect and are not supported by full information on the matter.


The Co-WIN platform facilitates registration (in both online & on-site modes), scheduling of appointments, vaccination & certification of beneficiary during COVID-19 vaccination process.


Even though the beneficiary is registered online or on-site in Co-WIN, the most important step after vaccination of beneficiary is to update the status of vaccination in Co-WIN on the day of vaccination itself in the vaccinator module. If it is not possible to update the status of vaccination on same day of dose administration, the data entry of that session can be done on next day till 5 PM in Co-WIN portal. Thus, there is extended scope for data entry of vaccination on the next day also. This utility is provided to obviate the need for backlog data entry of vaccination.


The web link for COVID-19 vaccination certificate is available in the Text SMS sent to beneficiary after vaccination after successful updation of vaccination status in Co-WIN.


Further Govt of India has also issued advisory from time to time that Vaccination Certificates to be issued to all vaccinated beneficiaries on the same day of vaccination before they would exit the vaccination centre.


COVID-19 vaccination certificate can also be downloaded from Co-WIN Portal, or Arogya Setu/Umang Mobile Application. It can be downloaded after each dose (Provisional Certificate after first dose and Final Certificate after second dose).


It may be possible that the beneficiary’s vaccination status has not been updated by the vaccinator at the time of vaccination, this may lead to a person to not get a vaccination certificate from the CoWIN system. To eliminate this issue, CoWIN system will soon provide features to remove such errors. However, citizens are also advised to check if they received the confirmation SMS post administration of a vaccine dose. Receipt of confirmation SMS denotes that the status has been updated by the vaccinator. The citizens are also advised to check the certificate through the link provided in the confirmation SMS or by logging in to the CoWIN portal. In case any errors are noticed in the certificate, the same should immediately be brought to the attention of the vaccinator, who can then rectify the error.

I received the the SMS and link to download the certificate within 5 minutes of getting the jab, mainly because the people were doing a swell job of keeping everything flowing.
In many govt sub-centers and even hospitals, they simply note down beneficiary details in a notebook and do a mass data entry in COWIN at the end of the day.....or not!
A friend got vaccinated on May3 with COVAXIN and now the 2nd dose is due, but the entry was not done by the center, a large government hospital here in Pune. Now friends are advising her to register with a new number and get COVAXIN at a private center ASAP so that atleast her 2 dose regimen is completed.

India reports lowest daily new cases of 1.27 lakh in 54 days as declining trend in new cases was maintained. India's Active Caseload further declined to 18,95,520. The active cases are below 20 lakhs after 43 days. Active Cases decrease by 1,30,572 in last 24 hours. A total of 2,59,47,629 total recoveries were noted across the country so far.
A total of 2,55,287 patients recovered during last 24 hours. Recoveries continue to outnumber Daily New Cases for 19 successive days. Recovery Rate continues to increase, at 92.09% today. Daily Positivity Rate dips to 6.62%, less than 10% for 8 consecutive days. Testing capacity substantially ramped up- 34.67cr tests total conducted.

I am in same boat... As her.. She need to reach out to DIO (¶Distt immunization officer) for her Distt and speak to him. He will ensure she gets the 2nd dose...

Pls don't ask her to register via other number and get second dose..second dose quantity is diff compared to first dose and she won't get the certificate incase she travels outside India... IMO within India also, just about time that they will start asking for these certs to travel via Air or train....

Little bit more information on this point please . Few of my colleagues who got their 2nd dose of covaxin had fever and body pains for more than 2 days which was not seen when they took their 1st dose . the standard dose is 0.5 ml right ? or for 2nd dose do they increase it any further ?

The origin and consequences of COVID-19.

Let us assume for a moment that the new inquiry ordered by US President Biden, this time not only to use normal, scientific, diplomatic Channels but also to include intelligence sources to conclude one way or the other that the Covid virus is laboratory made and not a natural occurrence as the Chinese wish us to believe. Was it released accidentally or intentionally spread around the world?

If the inquiry concludes that it was accidentally released, during the Chinese work on biological warfare weapons, then should China be held responsible for the misery it inflicted the world over?

What next then. Are the U.S., Europe and the rest of the world going to end their relationship with China? Will they claim compensation? Will they trade less and less?

The answer is no!

The rest of the world does not matter, it is US & Europe and their trade relations with China that will matter the most. That trade is a trillion dollar trade and it is unlikely to be dumped. The United States and Europe are overly dependent on cheap consumer goods and intermediate industrial goods produced in China. There is virtually nothing I buy in North America that is not made in China or that does not have Chinese parts. Moreover the price makes the difference, even though the quality is bad, but for the moment this is not the decisive factor.

Furthermore, the stock market has taken off since China made products appeared at the end of the 1990s at the behest of President Clinton. Profits drove it to new heights hence even if America gets mad at the Chinese for inflicting 600,000 dead and 35 million sickened with 2 trillion dollar economic losses, still the Stock Market will prevent any major shift in trade relations. The stock market turmoil will affect everyone's pocket, so it will remain intact with profit as a reason. It will be more than a trillion dollar FDI elsewhere in Asia with similar wage structure to build the industrial capacity as an alternative to China, which the head honchos in Washington’s political circles and the Stock Market will oppose. Hence, what next?

Even if the new investigation reveals that China is behind COVID-19, nothing will happen. Some diplomatic or maybe a political slap on China, but business will go on as usual. That will encourage China to be more belligerent and continue its quest for a super weapon.... It's a tragedy, all based on the economy.

It is a pity that this aspect has been ignored by mainstream media in the US and Europe.

Aarogya Setu rolls out feature to update Vaccination Status on the Aarogya Setu App

Vaccination status can be updated through mobile number used for CoWIN registration

Aarogya Setu has rolled out a feature to update Vaccination Status on the Aarogya Setu App.





How to update Vaccination status for SELF:


Those who are fully Vaccinated will get a Blue Shield on the home page of Aarogya Setu App with double blue ticks on the Aarogya Setu Logo – 14 days after the second dose.


This is done after verification of Vaccination Status from the CoWIN portal.


Those who have got a single dose will get a single blue border with vaccination status on their home screen along with Aarogya Setu logo with a single tick.


With the second dose, the home screen will have a double border and Aarogya Setu logo will have double tick.


14 days after the second dose, Aarogya Setu will have a blue shield.


All Aarogya Setu users will get the option to “Update the Vaccination Status“ if they have not taken the revised self-assessment. On taking the self-assessment on Aarogya Setu, those users who have taken at least one dose of COVID19 Vaccine will get the tab of “partially vaccination/vaccinated (unverified)“ on the home screen of Aarogya Setu. This is based on the declaration of vaccination status given by the user during the self-assessment. The unverified status becomes verified after an OTP based check from the CoWIN backend.


Vaccination status can be updated through the mobile number used for CoWIN registration.


This would make easy check of Vaccination Status possible for travel and access to various premises.


Details of how it works is explained below with all possible use cases.





Case – 1:


Initial Status (Default) for users who have not taken the updated self assessment

Case- 2


For the users who have taken the updated Self-Assessment

2. As per self-assessment, if user has taken the first dose, then Single Blue border will appear and status will be “Partially Vaccinated (Unverified). In this case, Aarogya Setu Icon will be of Grey Shade.

2. As per self-assessment, if user has taken the second dose also, then Double Blue border will appear and status will be “Vaccinated (unverified)”. In this case also, Aarogya Setu Icon will be of Grey Shade.

Case -3


If user has taken first dose, then after verification, “(Unverified)” text will be removed and the Grey Shade Icon will show the Aarogya Setu Colors.

On clicking “ > “ button, user will get the Vaccination details as below :

When, user becomes eligible for Dose 2 (4 weeks for COVAXIN and 12 weeks for COVISHIELD), the Vaccination Details screen will show the following:

If user has already taken second dose at the time of verification OR When user takes his second dose and updates the same in Aarogya Setu, screen will appear as below:

After 14 days of second dose of the vaccine, complete blue screen will appear and status will be as “You are Vaccinated”.

User can click on “View Details” and dowonload the final certificate:

For case 1 and case 2, to update or remove the “unverified” tab, User will need to validate his vaccination status from the COWIN platform and go through the COWIN OTP Flow for verification.


On clicking the tab “Partially Vaccinated (unverified) / vaccinated (unverified) “, following process will be followed:

Once, user clicks on “Confirm”, the profile gets updated in Aarogya Setu and vaccination details are saved and the status changes to “Partially Vaccinated /Vaccinated “as the case maybe for each user. Partially vaccinated tab will be displayed for users who have taken only the first dose and Vaccinated will be for users who have taken both the doses.








How to update Vaccination Status of those registered on CoWIN with another number





CoWIN allows one registered users to register upto 4 people for Vaccination. This is being used by people for registering their family, friends and those who don’t have a mobile phone or are not able to register or book slots on CoWIN on their own.


The Vaccination status for such users on Aarogya Setu will be updated by checking the Vaccination status through the mobile number which is registered on CoWIN.


Such persons will be asked to enter the mobile number registered on CoWIN when they try to verify their vaccination status. On entering, an OTP will be sent to the CoWIN registered mobile number. This OTP will need to be entered by the person verifying his Vaccination status and then he will be able to select his profile from the people linked to the CoWIN registered number. On selection of the correct profile, the Vaccination status will be confirmed from the CoWIN backend and the same will be updated on the Aarogya Setu app.

Agreeing to provide scientific evidence and intelligence, the virologist said that a visit to Wuhan will also strengthen the investigations as a lot of secrets have been suppressed and destroyed by the Chinese government. She also urged the investigating teams to visit the labs in Hong Kong and Beijing.

Talking about holding China accountable for the misdeed, Dr Li-Meng Yan revealed that the lab leak was not accidental but let out on purpose to do a small trial on the community which went out of control. What could have been contained locally, was let out across the globe intentionally by the Chinese government, informed the virologist.

Dr Li-Meng Yan while talking about holding China responsible for the pandemic informed that China suppressed vital information and misled the world for months leading to a global pandemic. The country still continues to spread misinformation to hide its misdeeds concluded the Chinese virologist.

Ending the interaction, Dr Yan informed that China is now bullying nations to buy its cheap vaccines.

Novel Coronavirus was created in a Chinese lab

A new study published by British Professor Angus Dalgleish and Norwegian scientist Dr. Birger Sørensen says that the novel Coronavirus was created by Chinese scientists in a lab and then reverse-engineered to give the impression that it evolved naturally from bats.

The authors of the paper said that they have had evidence of reverse-engineering for a year but were ignored by major journals and other academics.

In line with what Dr Yan revealed, Sørensen, a virologist and a chair at Immunor, a pharmaceutical company also informed that the Chinese government in fact indulged in ‘deliberate destruction, concealment or contamination of data’.

Most scientists in China who spoke out about the bio-weapon have been silenced or disappeared said the report.

Joe Biden asks to ‘double’ the efforts

US President Joe Biden has ordered the US intelligence agencies to “redouble” their investigative efforts to trace the emergence of the fatal Covid-19 pandemic and furbish a report in 90 days. This comes amid the growing controversy about the virus leak from the Wuhan lab being deliberate.

Biden said in a statement on Wednesday said, “I have now asked the Intelligence Community to redouble their efforts to collect and analyze information that could bring us closer to a definitive conclusion, and to report back to me in 90 days.”

“I have also asked that this effort include work by our National Labs and other agencies of our government to augment the Intelligence Community’s efforts. And I have asked the Intelligence Community to keep Congress fully apprised of its work,” he added.
