Nice to see that GTRE is researching this. https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Vijay-Petley-2
Lets see how long it takes them.

Yes and it is having lot of growth potential. It's for dry Kaveri right ??
Source of this pic? Looks like part of a RFI. Seems like GTRE is inviting a foreign partner to form JV for this.Yes and it is having lot of growth potential.

Actually its A very old RFI for the new fan which is currently being used in dry variant.Source of this pic? Looks like part of a RFI. Seems like GTRE is inviting a foreign partner to form JV for this.
But that mass flow rate is too damn high. Are we sure its for the distortion resistant fan on dry kaveri?Actually its A very old RFI for the new fan which is currently being used in dry variant.
It will be for both dry Kaveri & also for futuristic 110KN engine. 98-100 Kg/s mass flowrate is for 110 KN class of enginesBut that mass flow rate is too damn high. Are we sure its for the distortion resistant fan on dry kaveri?
Yep ,plz move them to that threadCan we post these on the Kaveri thread? That thread has been dry of late.
Nope. That is if we don't upgrade the tech. We need to be aiming to achieve pressure ratios above 30:1 and we'll be able to achieve 110kN thrust with just 78 kg/s mass flow rate. In the above pic u can see 100 Kg/s flow rate is for 110-130KN class engines
If we want to increase pressure ratio above 30 with 78kg/s mass flow rate , then the TeT must be greater than 2000K, I don't think we reached that level yet. But we can reach 110KN thrust with 100Kg/s mass flow rate, 25 pressure ratio and current level of SCB tech.Nope. That is if we don't upgrade the tech. With 100 kg/s mass flow rate, you get AL-41 class of engine.
That decreases the critical parameter: Thrust to weight ratio. We need that to be around 9 to 10. This is what the entire challenge is. Our planes AMCA, LCA, etc can't take a 100 kg/s engine in them, it would be too thick. If we want to increase pressure ratio above 30 with 78kg/s mass flow rate , then the TeT must be greater than 2000K, I don't think we reached that level yet. Do you mean the dimensions of the 100Kg/s engine will be similar to that of AL-31That decreases the critical parameter: Thrust to weight ratio. We need that to be around 9 to 10. With current tech, yes. Almost as big as that.Do you mean the dimensions of the 100Kg/s engine will be similar to that of AL-31
Look at GE-414 INS6 we are using on MWF. Its got a thrust to weight of 9:1, pressure ratio of 30:1, mass flow rate of 78 kg/s and a wet thrust of 98kN.Do you mean the dimensions of the 100Kg/s engine will be similar to that of AL-31
But they are using the same Intake fan in dry Kaveri na??With current tech, yes. Almost as big as that.
No. We don't know that for sure. But they are using the same Intake fan in dry Kaveri na??
Do you know what is the TeT of F414 ? Few years back I read that our DMS4 blade is better than the Rene6 blade used in F414. But I don't know how true it is??Look at GE-414 INS6 we are using on MWF. Its got a thrust to weight of 9:1, pressure ratio of 30:1, mass flow rate of 78 kg/s and a wet thrust of 98kN.
And we want a 110kN engine in the final indigenous AMCA engine by 2035. For that maybe they increase the mass flow rate to 85-90 kg/s, but no way are they going to something as high as 100.
Yes but it has been down rated According to current specs.No. We don't know that for sure.
Yep, both are same, but they reduced pressure ratio from 5:1 to 3.4:1 hereYes but it has been down rated According to current specs.
