The area where this took place has zero ISIS presence. Russia was fighting dictator Asaad's battles for him and bombing Turkmen villages. Turkey warned the russians 10 times as the SU24 was in a holding pattern crossing territory. It was only after that Turkey shot down a hostile fighter illegally encroaching, as is it's sovereign right. Turkey has promptly released all radar data and the truth is clearly on its side. Regardless of how you feel about ISIS (which is not even relevant to this incident), it's obvious that Turkey cannot be faulted.

The turks also feel great affinity for their ethnic kin across Russia and central asia. After how Russia treated the indigenous people of Crimea (who happen to be Turkic Tatars), there is bad blood between russia and turkey. Turkey could, in the snap of a finger, turn all the turkic central asian ex-USSR countries against Russia.

They forget about them for 300+ years and they all ready integrated in society . They are different Turks ,they are secular and over 70 year of soviet union developed those area ,these area have no loyalty to Turkey.When there was a civil war in these are did turkey come to help .The answer is no.Turkey has no friends in Central Asia.By they way they are more close to Mongolia .

Can somebody tell me the air-defence range of the Fort System on the Moskva class missile cruiser? I hear that the Fort System is like the S-300. Does it cover Incirlik from Latakia?

And there is also version fort-M, with longer range(150km as per wiki), but apparently not on Moskva.

Distance b/w Latakia and Incirlik AFB, seems to be 150-160km.

The Moskva cruiser, stationed in Latakia as part of the military buildup, is a 11,500-ton, 186-meter warship serving as part of the Russian Black Sea fleet. In addition to anti-ship missiles, anti-submarine mortars and torpedoes, it has 64 Fort missiles, the naval version of the S-300 long-range air defense system. The missiles can engage targets at a range of up to 150km, which is enough to cover all of southern Turkey from Latakia.

its not modern or stealth aircraft,
it does not even look good air combat jet but more like ground attack or jaguar kind of aircraft.

During the USS Donald Cook the Su 24M2 carried a ECM pord while during this shootout it did not carry and had no ECM protection
