Al Jazeera correspondent said "a large number of people have been killed or injured in fierce battle near Salaheddine.

The Syrian army has made progress but rebels have not abandoned Salaheddine, Al Jazeera correspondent said.

Free Syrian Army :D

I hope Hillary Clinton sees this.

Most Americans would be rather disturbed seeing the Al-Qaida and affiliates vandalizing Churches - err - I mean 'liberating' Syria.

In the last few hours, Syrian state media said the military had retaken the area, killing dozens of rebel fighters. But the rebels deny this. Correspondent Ahmed Zaidan, who visited Salaheddine a few hours ago, says the FSA is in "full control of the area".

Considering Syrian State media reported controlling Salaheddine last week when it never did is obvious who has more credibility.

It actually did. The rebels are faking a lot of the news.

The rebels carried out the Houla Massacre and blamed it on Assad. The rebels murdered a large number of government soldiers and blamed it on Assad.

I don't mind if you spend a lot of time visiting Jihadi websites, but do also spend some time reading German and Russian news channels. Also, read the article I posted in this thread from Guardian of UK.

Rebels repel Regime Assault on Salaheddine, begin new offensive

Syrian government forces pulled back from parts of the district of Salaheddine in Aleppo after heavy clashes with rebels fighting to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad, rebel sources said on Wednesday.

"Street warfare took place, they [the rebels] have inflicted huge loses on Assad's forces who pulled back now. Salaheddine is under the control of the Free Army," Omar, an activist in the area, told the Reuters news agency by Skype.

Other rebels confirmed his account.

The rebel version of events appeared to be at odds with a report from Syrian state television earlier in the day which said government forces had pushed into Salaheddine, killing most of the rebels there, and had entered other parts of the city in a new offensive.

Telegraph is quoting Syrian Army... AJ has correspondents on the ground and their report post-dates their report for the clarification of events. Why would Syrian Army have to re-assault a district the supposedly took last week? They wouldn't..

Didn't he get busted on it? Lets see a little accountability...

That's the difference between Free Press and State Media... they call out BS when they find it.

DO NOT MISS the white Arabic script on black background, worn on the forehead by a rebel, in the last picture.

All pictures are of rebels, and those people without weapons could either be rebels or civilians in rebel held places.

FSA claims responsibility for Russian general's death in Syria

The Free Syrian Army (FSA) claimed responsibility on Wednesday for the killing of a Russian general in Syria who was working as a consultant to the Syrian defense minister and head of general staff of military affairs, it said in an announcement aired by Al Arabiya

Free Syrian Army has claimed responsibility for the death of Russian general Vladmir Petrovic Kojai.

FSA said the killing of the general, Vladmir Petrovic Kojaiv, along his private translator, Ahmed Aiq, was evidence that Russia was embroiled in the "humanitarian crimes" against Syrians.

"We warn all the snakes to go back to their dens whether it is Russia, Iran and Iraq or Lebanon," a FSA officer said in the video.

Russia, Iran, Iraq and Lebanon's Hezbollah have long opposed foreign intervention in Syria and the toppling of President Bashar al-Assad. Russia and China have blocked U.N. Security Council's resolutions that seemed to be against Assad regime.

The rebel army said a number of documents and maps about the opposition and FSA were also seized.

The operation was conducted by its Ghota Western Brigades from Damascus along with FSA countryside forces, the rebel group said.

"I want to confirm that I am alive and well. I am in good health and I'm living in Moscow," Vladimir Petrovich Kuzheyev, a reserve general, was quoted as saying by Itar-Tass news agency.

Russian television briefly showed footage of Kuzheyev, in a blue shirt and no tie, at the Defence Ministry.
