(126 Rafales + 124 PAKFA + 100 AMCA=) total 350 aircraft x 120 million dollars a piece = 42000 million dollars = 42 billion dollars

125 LCA Tejas x 40 million dollars a piece = 5000 million dollars = 5 billion dollars

75 Su30 MKI x 80 million dollars a piece = 6000 million dollars = 6 billion dollars

TOTAL= 42 + 5 + 6 = 53-55 billion dollars for IAF purchases for 550 aircraft at 100 million dollars average per aircraft AT CURRENT PRICES

therefore in 2031 IAF will look like by CONSERVATIVE estimates: 240 Su-30 MKI + 110 LCA + 340 (Rafales, PAKFA, AMCA) + 60 leftover Jaguars + 45 Mirages = 790 - 800 combat aircraft (assuming 32 su-30 lost, 10 of total rafales, amca, pakfa lost etc.)

Pakistan air force would purchase:
200 JF-17 x 20 million dollars a piece = 4 billion dollars(it already has 60-70 JF-17s)
100 Chinese J-15/20 x 60 million dollars a piece = 6 billion dollars

6+4 billion = total 10 billion dollars for PAF purchases of 300 aircraft at 33 million dollars cost per plane average at CURRENT PRICES

so PAF in 1931 would look like 250 JF17, 100 J15/20, 50 F-16s= 400 aircraft

India will need to spend 55 billion dollars where it buys 550 aircraft at 100 million dollars a piece
while Pakistan will need to spend 10 billion dollars where it buys 300 aircraft at just 33 million dollars per plane

but India will have an economy at least 8 times larger as it now has compared to Pakistani economy.

Just 95 crores worth of spares was stocked by IAF , which is the result of frequent grounding and low availability of Su-30 MKI fleet.

HAL Sets Up Su-30 MKI ROH Project Facility

HAL on Friday inaugurated Su-30 MKI repair and overhaul (ROH) project stores at Nashik, the company said in a statement. The facility was inaugurated by Secretary Defence Production, G. Mohan Kumar. The facility is in the process to indigenize parts required for this aircraft and make the country self-reliant in this segment. "This is a big boost to HAL's activities at Nashik considering that HAL has set up a facility for ROH of 15 aircraft per annum at the division," Dr. R.K. Tyagi, Chairman, HAL. "HAL is one of the few organizations in the world to have set-up ROH facilities for Su-30," he added. Besides visiting the various production and design facilities of the division, Mohan Kumar also visited HAL airport at Ozar (about 20 km from Nashik and 200 km from Mumbai). The airport has a runway to handle international flights with night landing facility and has an apron for parking of six passenger aircraft.

Nothing is wrong with Su-30MKI. If such incidents were really true, these will occur in Russia, China also who are Su-30 or Su-27 users.

IAF needs to really look into its maintenance procedures. These fighters are super-expensive, and the maintenance is also super-expensive.

IAF is transitioning from low-tech to high-tech force. It is transitioning to technically complex systems - far more complex than earlier. It will take time.

While the "problem" in Su-30 part came very clearly blaming the ejection seat, the "solution" part has been buried. Now there is no news as to what was the real problem and what is the solution.

This is the problem with IAF.

The problem becomes public but the solution will never become public.

Maybe IAF has problems which are more serious compared to Su-30!

The Hon'ble Raksha Mantri, Shri Manohar Parrikar handed over the first overhauled Su-30 MKI to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Nasik today. The handing over of the world's first overhauled SU-30 MKI coincides with 50 years of establishment of Nasik Division of the HAL. The key personnel who were present at the function included the Chairman, HAL, and Defence Secretary, besides a host of other dignitaries. After the keynote address by the Hon'ble RM, the world's first overhauled SU-30 MKI took to the skies, thereby demonstrating the technical prowess of the HAL. On arrival at Ojhar airfield, the Air Chief, along with the RM, Defence Secretary and Chairman HAL, planted trees at the MiG complex of HAL. Besides the main event of handing over of the overhauled aeroplane, the CAS also inspected various assembly shops and the flight hangar.
