this is indeed a great news that finally the pak-fa will be superior to f-22 in all aspect including stealth.can anyone confirm whether the su-30mki upgrade will feature the 117s engine of the su-35?

(54) flat nozzle turbo-jet engine

(57) Abstract:
The invention relates to aircraft engine development, namely the design of nozzles turbojet engines. Flat nozzle includes a housing, upper and lower rotary wing, fixed side panels, power cylinder, the additional power cylinder and the rotary frame. One end of the power cylinder is attached to the hull and the other connected to the upper sash by turning the rotary frame. Swing frame is made with a triangular cross section. The surface of the rotating frame, facing the flow of the nozzle is made cylindrical. Additional power cylinder with one end attached to the sidewall, and others connected with the lower downstream end of the upper sash. The axis of rotation of the frame is rigidly attached to the side walls of the nozzle. The invention makes it possible to change the thrust vector engine, and also to reduce the aerodynamic losses in the flow around the outer and inner surface of the nozzle and increase the engine thrust. 2 ill.

The invention relates to aircraft engine development, namely the design of nozzles turbojet engines (TPD).

Known flat nozzle turbojet, comprising a body, the upper and lower movable sash, side fixed wing and power cylinder with one end attached to the hull and the other connected to the upper movable sash through swing frame with a triangular cross section, one whose surface facing the flow part of the nozzle is made of cylindrical (see patent EP 0748932 class F02K 1 / 12, 1996).

The known device provides a modified cross-section of the nozzle. However, the axis of the flow does not change its position at various modes of engine operation, thus not changing the direction of the thrust vector engine, equipped with such a nozzle.

The present invention is to provide the possibility of changing the thrust vector turbojet with a flat nozzle.

Said problem is solved by the fact that the well-known flat nozzle turbojet engine, comprising a body, the upper and lower rotary wing, fixed side walls and a power cylinder with one end attached to the hull and the other connected to the upper sash by means of a rotary swing frame with a triangular cross section, one whose surface facing the flow of the nozzle is made cylindrical, according to the invention, provided with an additional power cylinder with one end attached to the sidewall and the other is connected with the lower downstream end of the upper sash, with the axis of rotation of the frame is rigidly attached to the side walls nozzle.

This embodiment allows the device to move the axis of the mounting of the upper rotary valve in the position where you can change the axis of flow and, consequently, altering the thrust vector engine.

In Figure 1 shows schematically a longitudinal section of a flat nozzle turbojet,

The nozzle comprises a body 1, the upper and lower rotary valve 2 and 3, the side wall 4 and the fixed power cylinder 5. End 6 cylinder 5 is attached to the body 1 and the end 7 is connected to the upper sash 2 by turning the rotary frame 8, having a triangular cross section. Surface 9 frames 8, facing the flow of the nozzle is made cylindrical. The frame 8 is connected to two hinge leaf 10. The axis of rotation of 11 frames 8 is rigidly attached to the side wall 4 nozzles. The nozzle has an additional power cylinder 12, end 13 which is attached to the side wall 4 and end 14 is connected with the lower downstream end of the upper sash 2. Between body 1 and the cylindrical surface 9 frame 8 is the contact seal 15.

While the engine force of the power cylinder 5 through 8 and hinge frame 10 is transmitted to the upper leaf 2, which in this case turns. Lower leaf 3 is also rotated under the influence of power cylinders (not shown). Thus changing the position of the axis of the gas stream leaving the nozzle. In Figure 1 shows the position of the nozzles on the mode of screening of hot engine parts. The dotted line shows the position of the valves at speeds.

The proposed device allows you to change the thrust vector engine. In addition, the device can reduce the aerodynamic losses in the flow as the outer and inner surface of the nozzle and thereby increase engine thrust.

India to induct 250 FGFA initially to counter any threats(latest news)

India will eventually spend over $25 billion to induct 250 advanced stealth fifth-generation fighter aircraft (FGFA), on way to being co-developed with Russia, in what will be the country's biggest-ever defence project.

With a potent mix of super-manoeuvrability and supersonic cruising ability, long-range strike and high-endurance air defence capabilities, each FGFA will cost upwards of Rs 450 crore or around $100 million.

This will be in addition to the huge investment to be made in co-developing FGFA with cash-strapped Russia, as also the huge infrastructure required to base, operate and maintain such jets in India.

"We are looking to induct 200 to 250 FGFA in phases from 2017 onwards,'' confirmed IAF chief Air Chief Marshal P V Naik on Monday. As reported by TOI earlier, New Delhi and Moscow are looking to ink the FGFA preliminary design contract when Russian President Dmitry Medvedev comes visiting here in December.
Under intense negotiations for the last four-five years, the FGFA project will also figure in the talks between defence minister A K Antony and his Russian counterpart Anatoly Serdyukov on October 8.

Though the Indian FGFA will based on the Russian Sukhoi T-50 PAK-FA, which flew for the first time this January at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur facility in Siberia, it will be built to IAF's specifications. It's already being touted as superior to the American F/A-22 `Raptor', the world's only operational FGFA as of now.

ACM Naik said the 30-tonne FGFA will be a "swing-role fighter, with very advanced avionics, stealth to increase survivability, enhanced lethality, 360 degree situational awareness, smart weapons, data-links, high-end mission computers'' and the like.

Along with 126 medium multi-role combat aircraft, which India plans to acquire in a $10.4 billion project, 270 Sukhoi-30MKIs contracted from Russia for around $12 billion and 120 indigenous Tejas Light Combat Aircraft, the FGFA will be the mainstay of India's air combat fleet for the foreseeable future.

Even as the Army revises its war doctrine to factor in the worst-case scenario of a simultaneous two-front war with Pakistan and China, is IAF also preparing for the same?

"Our modernisation plans are based on the four pillars of `see, reach, hit and protect'...We prepare for a multi-faceted, multi-dimensional, multi-front war,'' said ACM Naik.

"But our approach is capability-based, not adversary-specific. Our modernisation drive is in tune with our nation's aspirations,'' he said, adding that India's strategic interests stretched "from Hormuz Strait to Malacca Strait and beyond''.

To a volley of questions on China and Pakistan, IAF chief said, "All neighbours, from the smallest to the largest, have to be watched with caution...Their capabilities have to be assessed...Anything that can upset the growth of our nation is a matter of concern.''

With the new planned inductions in the pipeline, IAF's obsolescence rate will come down to 20% by 2014-15 from the current 50% or so. "But this does not mean that we are not fully capable of defending the country from any air or space threat at the moment...We are,'' said ACM Naik.

FGFA to fly within 4 months


India is poised to fly its stealth aircraft after 4 months.The FGFA is designed to have a top speed of approximately Mach 2, or twice the speed of sound.
It has the ability to supercruise or operate at speeds beyond the speed of sound without engaging systems such as afterburners which consume huge amounts of fuel.
The aircraft will be equipped with an electronically scanned array radar whose beams are electronically steered to detect targets with maximum accuracy.

"The prototype will take off this year," said Alexei Fedorov, president of Russia's United Aircraft Corporation.
Several of the [COLOR=blue ! important][FONT=inherit ! important][COLOR=blue ! important][FONT=inherit ! important]technologies[/FONT][/COLOR][/FONT][/COLOR] being developed for the stealth fighter have evolved from those used in the Sukhoi 30 MKI.
Considered the most maneuverable fighter in the world, the Sukhoi 30 MKI uses thrust vectored engines which deflect the exhaust from its engines to extreme angles which enable the jet to pull off violent maneuvers like a flat spin where the jet literally spins around on its axis.
As new technological advancements are being developed for the stealth fighter, they will also find their way into the Sukhoi 30.

BE its news about FGFA not T50 . I wonder how can a FGFA prototype fly so quickly. was work going on for FGFA before formal deal was signed? even if it fly in 8 months We should all be happy .

it is an old news... this news came up before the first flight of the T-50. that time some in the media were addressing the T-50 as FGFA... But if u say otherwise lets wait for 4 months.fir doodh ka doodh aur paani ka paani ho jayga... i would be in shock if they manage to fly FGFA prototype so quickly..

Thats what I am talking about. on webpage it looks like a latest news and talks about FGFA . Hope its true but it seems very difficult to have flying prototype in next 4 months.
